Some of the better barbecue I've had. Had brisket chopped pork, and ribs which my wife and I split. Mr. Leon was really nice (came to our table a few times to talk to us). The restaurant is older and not impressive, but I like finding these hole in the walls with great food. My only complaint was the server... More

We ate here our last night in Galveston and wish it had been our first stop. We for sure would have gone again. The outside might make you think this was not going to be good. But to us, people from the south, having had BBQ all over the south, we knew we were in for a treat. And a... More

What's not to like? LARGE Portions, excellent Ribs, Sausage and Brisket, great spicy rice, and a small older building that is a throw back to older times... Other's have complained about not enough TVs, etc, etc. i wish they'd take it down. Nice big flat screen in the corner.. but .. I like it more quiet Did I mention nice... More

My boss was worried I'd have an issue at this place because i am so picky about service. Well, I have yet to have a bad experience and have visited about seven times so far. I work on the Island so I try to mix it up a bit. I love their sausages there but I mix it up too.... More

The place is at a good location, but nothing fancy. The brisket is awesome and the ribs are great. I was really impress with the beans. order the Leon's cut when ordering the brisket. The portions are generous and the price is reasonable. A good place to visit while in Galveston.

I had the beef brisket sandwich. It was very good and with enough meat for two sandwiches. If I lived in the area, I would become a regular.

Leon's is one of the two best BBQ places in Galveston, the other being Queen's. They might be the only two in Galveston now that Capitol Q is gone, but both are top notch regardless. Leon's is more of a Texas Style BBQ, country style, fresh grilled, hearty taste. Sauce is light and tangy, but not sweet like at Queen's.... More

I've driven by this place a couple of times and it looked interesting, but it looked a bit rough from the outside and is located in a part of town that is not the tourist district. But after reading the good reviews, and wanting something a little tastier than Quenn's BBQ, we decided to drop in for lunch. The interior... More

This is one of the best Barbeque places in the country!! We tried it the other day and we went back the next with our friends. We're going again before we leave Galveston. The ribs and the sauce are perfect. If you're going to Galveston, go to Leon's right away because you're going to want to go back.
