Relaxed and Fun

We were looking for a dinner option that would give us access to March Madness basketball games. My son found the Press Box on Yelp. This is a great little dive bar with fantastic food! The tater tots were beyond amazing! The bartender/waiter was lots of fun and made sure we got the right... read more

Not a bad place to get a quick bite of comfort food at reasonable prices. The friendly bartenders are attentive and also double as wait staff. Restaurant is located near the Cruise Ship docks. I recomment the burgers and fries.

Looking for a sports bar to watch TCU play in the Peach Bowl. Had read this was a good place, and was it! Great, Friendly atmosphere, tv's positioned where you could see, inexpensive drinks, and killer good food. Lunch special of the day was a ribeye steak, potato, and salad for $7.99. It was delicious (and they sold out). Will... More

Whenever you read Press Box, think "Cheers"; same characters and colorful customers; there are excellent bartenders who somehow manage to become part of your group without encroaching your personal bubble. It happens somewhere between the second and third drink when you realize that this is a place you don't want to leave or that you can't wait to get back... More

Went for lunch Saturday after very disappointing Galveston Shrimp Festival...always good food, good service and just a "family feel good" kinda place for Saturday afternoons!

My wife and our friends split burgers one afternoon while on our trip to Galveston. This is a small local bar that our friends recommended. Burgers were great and they had the Nationwide Race and the Dallas CowGirl preseason game on several TVs surrounding the bar... good times, good food, great friends. Can't ask for more better than that!

Frequented by locals mainly, this out of the tourist traffic pattern bar and restaurant features fine food and friendly drinks at bargain prices. Locals flock to the weekday specials that range from chicken fried steak to stuffed pork chops served always with a crisp salad. The Monday night prime rib is perhaps the island's best bargain. My partner and I... More

Visiting to Galveston and stopped at the suggestion of the bartender for 3rd Coast - SO glad we went. Bartender was spot on with attentiveness. I chose the Rib Eye... BEST steak I've had in a very VERY long time!!! Partner had a French Dip -to die for!!! Gotta go back!!! Just got to!!

Been coming here since it opened and for a more mature crowd this is the place. You can actually carry on a conversation and be heard over the juke box. The lunch menu is good and they serve the best tater tots on the island. If you're looking for a watering hole where you can sit and have a cold... More

Great place. The food is yummy. Love their tater tots. Love their nachos. Couldn't decide so the bartender suggested tater tots topped like nachos. I heard the angels sing. If when traveling you want to go local, not touristy, this is the place to go. We are Galveston weekenders but feel BOI (Born on the Island) when we are here.
