Unpleasant atmosphere

The food was good ("regular" Mexican, not Tex-Mex) and not too expensive. Service was good, helpful (of course there were only 2 customers at the time, including me). Atmosphere was awful. The (semi-)big screen TV was tuned to one of those "news"/propaganda/hate/sarcasm channels. Not what you... read more

My wife and I stopped here because she loves seafood and the menu included ceviche. At first everything was fine until the food came. The "ceviche" was frozen fish and artificial crab in lemon juice. The Perch we ordered was actually Talapia. Even the nachos were bad! Terrible place to eat.

Arrived in Galveston early evening and drove around looking for someplace to eat; it was open and had parking. A great find!! Mexican chicken soup made with chicken on the bone and corn still on the cob! Haven't seen that in a Mexican restaurant in years!!! And really good prices!!

Our first meal back in Texas, and we stumbled across a jewel! Family owned, and the family cares about their customers. Good, authentic, Mexican food is like good BBQ. The small places serve the best! ---BUT you have to find them! We got *so* lucky. Do not expect tourist food. Do not expect American-ized Mexican food. Do not expect trendy... More

This is a down home Mexican restaurant. We eat here four to five times a year, everytime we visit the island. The decor is what you would expect from a restaurant owned and operated by MEXICANS. Order Mexican food, not American, not Spanish, MEXICAN! If you don't know the difference, ask. Or maybe McDonald's is more to your liking.

My family of 5 go here every other weekend for about 3 years. They have great food. Excellent service they know what each of us want to drink and what we each want to eat when we go for breakfast (when we go for dinner we mix it up all the time) and they know I have to have there... More

Our family vacations in Galveston every year. We had tried this restaurant before about five years ago and ended up leaving furious because the waitress neglected to tell us they did not have what my son ordered untill everone else had been served. Well we made the mistake of giving them a second chance. Bad food. Bad service. Bad mistake.... More

We had the surprise burrito - it has eggs, potatoes, beans, cheese and bacon inside a handmade tortilla. Really very good, hot and fresh. It was $4.25 and they really don't skimp on the ingredients. We will be back for breakfast for sure.

Breakfast is served till 11am. Ordered the Migas, scrambled eggs with onion, jalapeno & tomatoes served over tortilla strips with the best refried bean on the side, chunk potatoes and freshly made flour tortilla bigger than the plate. Large glasses of the strongest ice tea & cold beer. Nicely priced - breakfast for 2 under 20. Old place, not much... More
