The best time to go to Mario's is lunchtime--they have an awesome buffet that gives you a chance to sample their pizzas and some of the Italian dishes that are on their menu. The evening/weekend (non-buffet) menu is heavy (in every sense of the word) on the southern Italian dishes with red sauce, including eggplant parmesan and everything marinara. more

Great buffets and some of the best Italian dishes in the Sicilian style. Robust marinara's and red sauces. more

We went there on a weekday afternoon after the lunch crowd. No greeting. No hello. Just a walk to the table, where my wife sat on one side and I sat on the other, so we could conversate. The hostess was taken aback when we said we actually wanted two menus. She had to walk all the way back to... more

Husband and I went looking for food when the power went out in our vacation home on the Island on a Friday evening. He had never been to Mario's (on 61st). On my last visit years ago, Mario's was in a dumpy old building close to the street, but it is now housed in a newer building farther back, with... more

We ordered pizza for delivery to our room with a side of brushetta. The pizza was good, not fabulous, okay for a quick casual dinner for the kids in your room. The brushetta was cold and had way too much parmaesan cheese on it, not good-flavored. Since this was all we ordered, it's all we can comment on. Delivery was... more

We love Mario's! Don't miss the lunch buffet that runs Monday through Friday it is worth it! There isn't anything on the menu I wouldn't recommend but the Tomato Basil soup is one of my favorites! more

Nothing fancy but pretty good food. We ate the lunch buffet for about $10 a piece. Children under 4 were free. The had a great salad bar. The pizza was great. They also had chicken alfredo that was marginal. For dessert they had chocolate and banana pudding and tiramasu that was all just O.K. Good service. Good place for a... more

We (party of four) visited The Mario's Ristorante on 61st Street. If you're coming from Seawall Blvd and turn onto 61st street, keep a watchful eye out for this establishment on the right! It sits back off of 61st street and someone can easily drive past it. The ambiance and decor of this establishment wasn't anything like I conceived it... more

Mario's is right on the seawall, and most of their tables have a direct view of the beach, which makes the dining experience very pleasant. Unfortunately, the restaurant seems very disorganized--my husband and I had to flag down a waiter 10 minutes after being seated because no one had come by to even take our drink orders. The woman we... more

We went to the restaurant on mother's day. The food was great! Nothing else was. Salads were forgotten and drinks were slow to be refreshed. We were going to not give the waiter a tip until we found out there were only two waiters that day for the entire place. We were a group of 4 couples and asked for... more
