This is my choice of Cajun seafood restaurant in Galveston. I've been a customer since 1990's. Food is Same has been changed for years. Staff is friendly and helpful. It gets very busy on weekends. Gumbo seafood is real good and poorboy sandwich too. You can seat out side and have your food or drink too. Prices is about 10-20$.... More

Fresh! Garlic crabs were excellent. So were the fried shrimp & Cajun grilled flounder! Wonderful! Everything we ordered was delicious.

I've always wanted to try Benno's since it is a Galveston institution. My friends haven't had anything glowing to say about it, so I decided to try it myself. Horrible decision. I ordered the fried seafood platter. I could immediately tell that the frying oil was old because it tasted, and looked, like crap. Hard, burned, rancid was the taste... More

Don't expect the healthiest menu in town. Bennos is just reliably good, fresh Cajun seafood fare which means spiced, breaded (unbreaded is available) and buttered--very well, I might add. There are worse things than a cold beer, corn on the cob, cole slaw, boiled potatoes, hush puppies and a plateful of fried shrimp and/or fish. Crabs, crawfish, and oysters also... More

We ate here twice over the weekend. My wife had the blackened flounder and I got the Cajun seafood platter. Great food at good prices. Shiner bock or bud light on draft in frosty mugs. If you sit on the patio to eat, DO NOT FEED THE BIRDS. There are signs all over, but some idiot always does. As soon... More

A little old fashioned in the way they take your order, you forget you had to stand in line to get the order in when the food arrives at your table. We always eat outside watching the waves march in and ships at anchor on the horizon, the seafood is well prepared and the price is a great value.

Benno's seems to have become an LGBT hangout over the years. The food just keeps getting more expensive. Every trip to Galveston has always included a visit to Benno's. Next year we're trying Guido's instead. Oh, and the bathrooms are NASTY.

My husband and I tried this place a couple of years ago and were blown away. The food was fabulous then and still is now. This time, we shared the fried platter and the Cajun grilled platter that had fish, shrimp, oysters and crab balls along with fries and spicy Cajun boiled potatoes. The serving size is very good. The... More

Local Resturant food and service very good. I got the seafood plater and my wife got the shrimp and oysters. We got a bread pudding to go and it was good also. Most Restaurants experiment with their bread pudding by adding ingredients but this was basic and that is what bread pudding is about. Very friendly staff and you can... More
