Great Down Home Cooking

This is the only place to go while you are in Galveston for seafood. It's been a family favorite for many, many years. It's not fancy, that aren't any cloth napkins and people don't eat with there pinky up. But, if you want to eat where the locals eat then you will love it here. Great prices and... read more

When ordering and asking questions about the menu they responded "i dont know..i dont eat here"! When we ordered they missed my sons order..it took us 30 minutes to get our food...and... More

Always a great place to take family and friends to! I also always hit this place at least once when in Galveston. The service is fast and efficient, the food is always hot and fresh. My favorite is the oyster po-boy basket. The sandwich is always loaded with plenty of seafood, no matter which type you get. The gumbo is... More

Great food and great value. Come for the poor boys, shrimp. Fresh, well prepared fish and shrimp. Just walk up order and serve yourself. Several blocks off the sea wall in an old building. You will come back, too!

We love this place and have eaten there dozens of times. It serves some of the best fried catfish and shrimp around. Local place that gas become more popular in the past few years but has handled the increase in traffic well.

We found this little gem a few years ago and have made it our go to when in Galveston. Our family loves the fish and shrimp tacos and have tried many of the items on the menu and have always been happy. It has a casual atmosphere and includes outside seating. Although it is not on the seawall it is... More

When we checked in they told us about this restaurant. It is off the main tourist area, and I am really glad we went. It has a local feel, and I would go back to this one for sure. We went to the original location. The Shrimp rock and it was affordable.

If you want good seafood, and don't want to mortgage your house, come here. It's a funky little place that the locals go to for good, basic seafood. Try the shrimp po' boy or anything that includes the crab (stuffed shrimp, crab balls, etc.) and you'll leave happy and full. Our 16 year old daughter ate a bowl of gumbo... More

We were a little disappointed in our visit this time. We've been there several times in the past it's always been pretty good. This time it was very bland and lacked much flavor. The crab balls were very small and very expensive for what you got. We probably won't go here again. It's time to try something new
