We enjoyed a wonderful dinner here during a recent week-long visit to Galveston. The Saltwater Grill was at the top of the list of restaurants we enjoyed during that stay. Food and service were terrific. Nice selection of wines. Comfortable, fun and relaxed atmosphere. The Saltwater Grill would be a great choice for a nice night out when in Galveston. more

My husband and I first ate here about a year ago. It was wonderful. We had not made reservations and the place was packed so we sat at the bar. My husband and I celebrated our second anniversary in Galveston over the weekend. For dinner Saturday night we made 5:30 reservations at the Saltwater Grill on the Strand. Dined here May 15th, 2007 for Mothers Day. We had a reservation, but apparently they lost it, no matter we were seated immediately anyway thanks to a courteous waiter who saw us waiting at the hostess stand. The waiter was very helpful and very efficient. Suggested some off menu dishes that were quite excellent. The gumbo is dark and rich... more

I have lived in Galveston for a few years now and I can say, hands down, that the Saltwater Grill is the finest restaurant in town. In fact, I have yet to order an entree or appetizer that wasn't delectable. In particular, the coconut-encrusted shrimp stands out in my mind as being a premier dish.
