Description: The toast of the Texas coast. How can frozen fish be called fresh? The answer for anyone with snap is simple: it can’t. That’s why Gaido’s is the classic choice for fresh Gulf seafood. Patrons know Gaido’s is real, when others are clearly not. From red snapper and blue crab to white tablecloths crumbed with panache, there’s no denying Gaido’s is one-of-a-kind in a world of imitation. Now, after four generations of filleting, frying, grilling and baking, Gaido’s has grown into the picture perfect place of traditions– birthdays, anniversaries, retirements, reunions. As the largest fresh fish house on the coast, Gaido’s can serve up to 2,500 happy diners a day. Plus, with the Pelican Club, private dining, catering, a new food truck and parking galore…it’s easy to see why Gaido’s -– for over 100 years – is truly the coastal classic.

We haven’t been to Gaido’s in a while, but were pleased to see it is still good. We started with the lobster bisque and seafood gumbo: both outstanding. For the entrée, the oyster platter was delicious, although a bit pricey; the seafood combination platter was equally good. We had great service and a nice ambiance. We mentioned that it was... More

Everyone enjoyed their appetizers, crab spinach dip and "soldier" shrimp cocktail. The maritini was perfect! The others in party enjoyed stuffed flounder (the portion is so large, two of the party were stuffed when they were barely through half of their entrée). I have celiac so could not indulge, but had a fabulous crab cobb tower salad without dressing.. The... More

Gaido's has changed over the last 100+ years; location and interiors have changed quite a few times. But, Gaido's pursuit of seafood heaven continues. The Dining Room, dotted with white tablecloths, is very nice place to enjoy fresh seafood. Our server was a very pleasant and completed our dining experience. We began with Gaido's "Soldier" shrimp cocktail (served with both... More

Wow! From the crawfish fondue, very rich and served w/ toast rounds, to the expertise of the server, Justin T., we were in for a delightful and memorable meal. Seated at the window, so we could enjoy the ocean view, we were not rushed at all by staff. We ordered the fantastic gumbo, following our crawfish fondue while savoring our... More

We are considering ourselves to be "Oyster Tourists"... the oyster season just opened so the decision was easy. Add in the gumbo, the wedge salad, the blackened scallops and finally the angel food dessert. Heaven.

As always the food was excellent. Service was just a bit slow. The crab cakes are excellent! The crab and avocado was very tasty.

We had an early dinner during our Veterans Day Beach fun day. Stopped in and had a most enjoyable meal with great service by David. White tablecloth restaurant with food ala carte. Everything was creative and delicious. The fresh baked bread was served warm and was extremely delicious. I recommend the stuffed shrimp. Also had a window seat and enjoyed... More

We came to this restaurant by way of recommendation from a friend. To be honest up front, I think the food is good but somewhat overpriced...however, I don't think you are just paying for the food here. You are paying for the excellent service and the coastal ambiance (if you get a window table). This restaurant has a lot of... More
