Consistently Good!

We have been going to "the pearl" for over 5 years, and have yet to be dissatisfied. Though the menu is mostly fried food, there are many other choices available. Try the tuna sandwich,or the gumbo. Service is good and the prices are very reasonable.

this downtown venue has been around a long time and is still very popular. We had to wait an hour to get in. We had a table close to the bar and it was very noisy thanks to a loud obnoxious drunk next to us. Food was very good, but service was average as place was so crowded the waitress... More

Great seafood and service in a casual casual diner setting. The oysters are great quality and the Cajun Boiled Shrimp is delicious. Also try the calamari appetizer!

First night on the island and wanted local. Took trip advisor advice and wasn't disappointed. We waited at the bar for a table but not long. Our waitress was from the Czech Republic and very efficient and nice. Two of us had Crab cakes, one had oyster platter, and one had red beans and rice. All were very good and... More

Cool name, convenient location, somewhat eclectic atmosphere. Had the raw oysters and they were great. Gator bites ok, shrimp cocktail somewhat disappointing. Fast friendly service with reasonable drink prices.

The guests at our nearby hotel said the food at this place was at-best mediocre but the place is so convenient to our hotel that we decided to give it a try. We feel so smart now that we have eaten at the Black Pearl because we sat at the bar and asked the bar made what she recommended due... More

Ate here twice on vacation. Couldn't get enough of the Oysters 3 Ways. Drinks were great as well. Service couldn't have been better, even when every table was full. Definitely a must stop if you're on the strand. Lunch time there is great and a great people watching spot!

Great menu, great service but a poor selection of Nola beers. The food on the other had is hands down some of the best on the island to be had. Not a lot of seating so get here and plan on a couple beers till they get an open table. Great crawfish dishes and Boudain that's great. Pearls is not... More

The location from the Tremont Hotel and the Strand cannot be beat. Walking distance. My friend and I ate here for lunch. She got the fried shrimp po-boy and I got the muffuletta. We both greatly enjoyed our lunch and when our waitress asked if we wanted dessert we said no because the sandwiches and onion rings we ordered on... More

The Hostess was delightful and very apologetic for the w-a-i-t. Our pack of weary travelers were told "30 minutes", the first 45 minutes seemed the longest ... we were seated in the front window which was awkward with those both waiting to see how lonh their "30 minute" wait would actually be. The service was weekend past 6pm style service... More
