Nice server that forgot our gumbo. Started with onion rings, lukewarm but would've been very good hot. I had crawfish combo-fried were ok at best, étouffée wasn't traditional n needed salt but was pretty good. Blackened fish tacos are usually great but chipotle sauce was almost too hot to eat, corn tortillas were hard-stale I guess, fish was just ok.... More

We ate here and had some pretty good seafood. We got two different platters that we split. It's hard to mess up fried seafood, so I didn't have the highest expectations, but the food was still pretty tasty. I was happy to find out that fried oysters are actually pretty good! (I can't stand raw oysters!) It's really nothing special,... More

I read the reviews and we decided to try it. It is a small place so we (party of 4) were told 30 minutes but were seated in 10 minutes. You have to try the Shrimp Cocktail! Scrumptious. The crab cakes were good and the oysters were great (not crazy about the cornmeal breading but the oysters were tasty!). Hamburger... More

Very small, big parties will have a long wait. I wish they would have offered their lunch menu at dinner...it looked better. We were not offered a kid's menu, so we didn't know what to order. But, they do have a kid's menu, so definitely ask.

This place was terrible. We walked in and no one even greeted us. There is no host stand, so we just stood there for what seemed like forever before someone came and pointed in the direction of a dirty table to sit at. We went and waited for him to clean it off. He walked away and we thought he... More

We dropped in here for lunch. The portions are large and everyone enjoyed their meal. The shrimp salad had a lot of shrimp and the cup of gumbo was the size of a bowl. Prices were reasonable too. I would definitely come back.

Had to start with oysters due to the restaurants name after all. They were served on the half shell with a basket of stale saltine crackers. Yuck. But it got better from there. My husband had a shrimp po boy that was overflowing with yummy shrimp. I got the blacked fish tacos which I ended up eating every last bite.... More

...that lead to a pretty nice meal. The Black Pearl is in an awesome location just off the Strand on the corner. It is in some perfect triangulation of walking distance from everyplace I need to go, have been, or need to get away from and find refuge. I made it there for the dozen oyster happy hour ($3 off,... We own a condo on the East Beach in Galveston so we are in Galveston often. The Black Pearl is our favorite restaurant. Oysters in season are excellent. The menu is full of good things. The portions are large, they don't mind splitting them if you don't eat a lot like we do. Prices are reasonable. Service is good, ask... More
