MEOW for the Quirky decor and Tasty food!

Easy to locate in a quiet location away from the crowds of the Seawall and The Strand. Off street parking. Can eat in or take out. We stopped by for lunch and it did a good amount of business. Their 'famous chicken salad sandwich' was indeed famously delicious with homebaked bread. I opted... read more

Visiting from Kansas City we decided to try this place because of the great reviews. Maybe we didn't visit the same place as the rest of the raters because I was completely unimpressed. We went for a late lunch and the place wasn't particularly busy but it took them 40 minutes to bring our a reuben, buffalo chicken sliders and... More

Finally got around to trying ShyKatz deli! I had planned on a deli type sandwich, but saw the patty melt on the menu and went for it instead. I upgraded to a combo with seasoned fries and drink. Although pricey, (the combo was $16) the food was delicious and as good if not better than home made. The order of... More

After arriving to Galveston, I looked on TripAdvisor to find a good place to eat and found ShyKatz Deli -- what a great find!!! The place has cute-fun mismatched furniture. It also has wall sayings that made me LOL. All of this adds up to an enjoyable-homey place to eat. The food was the best part. I had the special... More

Stopped in with my family at lunch. The place was packed. Since seating is pretty limited, be prepared to sit with others like you would in a cafeteria. The sandwiches we ordered took almost an hour to get which is pretty frustrating. I read some of the reviews on here so had pretty high hopes and expectations and boy was... More

This is by far the best place we have eaten in Galveston! Their food is homemade and delicious. We have tried numerous places, but hadn't found any wow food. They serve breakfast and lunch. We went for breakfast. Homemade thick, huge pancakes. They were yummy! But before we got our food I saw more yummies. About a third of the... More

everything on the menu is out of this world. I've tried both bfast and lunch and haven't had anything that wasn't out of this world. I hesitate to write this though because i'd like to think of this as a locals only place and the more people that find out means i'll have to wait in line. no matter how... More

Went for lunch, we both had a sandwich. A pastrami on a French roll with pickles and a grilled vegie wrap, both were great, Very friendly service will return.

Recommended by a local, we decided to try this for lunch. I ordered the Johanna burger (a hamburger with lettuce & tomatoes--yeah, not very original decision on my part, I know) and it was good ($8.00). The bun was very good. I ordered the burger without pickles but the kitchen loaded it down with pickles anyway, so I ended up... More

Came here for breakfast. I had the Pawpaw's plate and my son had the Granny's plate. This is a nice little dinner with a very home style old diner feel to it. It is a self serve style restaurant where you order up front and get your own drinks at a self serve drink station. The staff (two ladies) were... More
