My husband and I ate stopped in for lunch. The employees make you feel so welcome the minute you walk in the door. We ordered the lunch specials-creamy tortilla soup and tuna salad sandwiches. The soup was wonderful and the sandwich was served on thick slices of homemade bread. We also had a side of sweet potato fries that were... More

I guess I'm spoiled by Kerbey Lane Cafe back home in Austin, and that's what I judge all places like this by. All the food was really good and the prices were reasonable for Galveston and it was walking distance from our beach house. I'm glad we went here, it's a good local cafe. It could do with more/ better... More

This place was recommended by a local and it didn't disappoint. You have to try their scones which are not traditional but scrumptious, nonetheless. Everything is baked in-house. The atmosphere is casual but the food is first class.

ShyKatz is an eclectic, charming, locally-owned deli and cafe. The food is wonderful. Sausage gravy like they make in the south. If you have a big appetite, try the Katastrophic for breakfast. Get some of the fresh baked goods to go. I recommend some scones or a gigantic brownie. You won't be disappointed.

First meal after we got off our cruise. Breakfast....and we were looking for something really great since we had spent 5 days eating "OK" food on a cruise ship. This place is fantastic. The food is wonderful. We all had the Katastrophie....it was a pile of breakfast foods covered in sausage gravy. I felt like I was in heaven. The... More

Stopped here because one of my colleges had been here before and liked it a lot. He was not wrong. There were six of us all with different meals and they were all amazing. We did not get desert but they too looked amazing. Staff was very friendly and service was prompt. If you are in the area you must... More

This is a local gem tucked into a neighborhood in Galveston. Shannon and her team provide great service and fantastic food. My personal favorite is breakfast and the pancakes are best I have ever had. For the first time I catered an office breakfast yesterday with them and was very pleased with the quality and quantity of bulk food order.... More

Just good food. Everything. When the fridge is empty, Shy Katz is where we go. Stay away from the bread pudding, it's reserved for me!

Went here for breakfast after reading the reviews and we were not disappointed. The eggsalad sandwich was wonderful and the bacon crispy. The fruit salad nice and fresh. My daughter loved her wrap.
