We found this to be an interesting place to stop and view the memorabilia. Also nice place for an ice cream sundae or a go nuts shake(peanut butter and ice cream) both were very good. Friendly and prompt service.

First of all I (although they serve food and it is the oldest working soda fountain in Texas) I wouldn't call this place a restaurant but would classify it as an attraction. History is oozing out of every crack and crevice in this place. A working soda fountain in the middle and a full menu as well as the old... More

The Star Drug store is very rich is history. No longer a drug store, just a little old time dinner with the old-time soda fountain type feel, and lots of unique items for purchase or viewing. Most certain a place to visit for the fans of nostalgia.

This quaint 50's style diner/ soda fountain served up a tasty American style breakfast. Went there with my family the morning before on a cruise. We walked there from the Tremont House. Ordered your basic eggs over medium, bacon, toast... The bacon was the BEST--thick cut smokey goodness! Great place!

CLASSIC soda fountain ambiance; 'bout the best burger on the island. and a secret:..... they use vanilla malt, so the chocolate malt w/ extra malt is AMAZING. Just a couple blocks from the strand, so whether you're day-tripping from the mainland, or docked w/ a cruise -- it's walking distance from most places.

I'd heard so much about Star from my fellow crew-members that I had to try it out before heading home for the summer. It was amazing. My friend and I went there for breakfast. I got their Star egg plate and it was super-delish. I don't even know if that's a real word, but you get the point. Go...try it...you'll... More

The Star Drugstore has an eclectic mix of retail, and the old soda-fountain atmosphere. In our group the food was found to be between fair and good, but the milk shakes and floats were a great hit! Especially a great place for snacks - the shakes and floats.

We stopped here to get a sandwich on a Saturday afternoon and discovered that the lunch counter closes at 300 pm and the soda fountain closes at 400. Service wa very very poor. The place was very very much overrated. Don't believe the ratings posted on Trip Advisor.
