I wasn't sure what to expect, but was pleasently surprised. The moist brisket was very good. Served on wax paper, you aren't there for the atmosphere, which is perfect for a place like this. I'm guessing it has evolved from a country store, to what it really is today, more of a BBQ place. I thought the quality here was... More

If you're looking for great BBQ, this is not it. HOWEVER, the breakfast tacos are very good, as is the seasonal green chile stew.

We usually eat turkey when we eat at Rudy's but last time that we were they had Prime Rib on sale and were surprised that it was excellent. The creamed corn was excellent.

Our basketball team went here as a group. Service was quick, food was fine, and the prices were very reasonable. Ambience worked great for our group. Liked that they had inside and outside seating. Definitely would return.

Start with the "bad": Parking is pretty weak, and since they serve by the 1/2 pound, it is often hard to judge if you are going to get the right amount, or what your final bill might be. 'bout all I can find wrong. the lean brisket is delicious...add a link or two of sausage, maybe a side of potato... More

My husband and I were very excited to try Rudy's. We ordered baby back ribs, ham and brisket along with potato salad, cole slaw and a sad excuse for baked beans. The brisket was tasteless and overcooked, the ribs under cooked and fatty, the ham was good. The cole slaw, potato salad and beans were disgusting. And all of this... More

We weren't too sure what to expect at a gas station, but the smell of smoking was strong and pleasant. We were greeted cordially and offered tastes of a number of items on the menu -- all were really good! We settled on the brisket (perfectly smoked, still succulent, not at all dry), beans and coleslaw. This is a family... More

Rudy's has great breakfast tacos as well BBQ. Not a big fan of the spicy sauce...too much black pepper, but the regular sauce is good. Don't leave without trying the peach cobbler.

Those are the best options here. Ribs are mediocre at best. In winter, try the green chile stew. It's surprisingly excellent.

I'm a midwesterner, so gas and bar-b-que don't mix in my area. Apparently that is not to in Texas. My son took me to Rudy's and the food is off the chain. It is sold by weight. The dining area is barn / garage / gas station motif. The tables are the long picnic tables with checkered table cloths. No... More
