Delicious Burger and Bun!!

Ok, this is one of the best burgers ever. Juicy, well cooked, you can pick what you want for toppings. The jalapeño cheese bun rocks!! Krusty fries with ranch dressing are fantastic!! We come here every time we visit Fredericksburg. It is a must do on our list. Wait staff is friendly. The wait is... read more

Great service on a Friday afternoon - not busy even with the holiday weekend! Cold beer and the food was wonderful. Highly recommend the drive out!

Definitely worth the drive to this remote café. Everything seems to be made from scratch, and high quality. I tell anyone who comes to visit that that they need to eat there - it's a must-do for the Hill Country. And for a family fun activity, add the bat viewing. Very unique experience.

This place is out in the middle of nowhere, unless you are going to see the nightly bat flight at the Old Tunnel state park. But if you're out that way the burgers are wonderful. (Try the jalepeno & cheese roll). Grab your drink from the cooler when you walk in, take a seat and enjoy reading all the stuff... More

There are three things about the Alamo Springs General Store and Cafe that make it Texas Hill Country. First you notice a great view of the geography from its hill top location. Next you will love the people because you will find them friendly and helpful (both the staff and customers). The food is fantastic; be sure to get the... More

Headed home from Fredericksburg to Corpus the wife and I stop and get some last minute things and she says the words I've been waiting to hear all weekend Alamo Springs. I look up its 1030am they open at 11 so we head down Old San Antonio Road and arrive a few minutes before they open. Surprised there's only 2... More

Alamo Springs is sort in the middle of nowhere, but surrounded by beautiful scenery. It is worth the effort to find it...fabulous hamburger, delicious onion rings, and the real surprise: fried green beans. All were wonderful and huge servings that can be split between two or three persons. Friendly service with an insight into the area and what it's like... More

There is a sign hanging inside that says "This mess is a place"...it fits. Organization seems to be an afterthought here. On a busy Saturday evening for "first timers" like us, we had no idea where to go to be seated. No sign or helpful glance from an employee. It wasn't until we tried to seat ourselves that we were... Arrived about 12:15 and it was nearly full inside. The staff was very busy and it took a little time to take our order. We all had cheese burgers. Mine was with Cheddar Cheese, Bacon, and Avocado. Added an order of Onion Rings. The burgers were some of the best. Plenty messy because they came loaded. The onion rings are... More
