This wonderful "roadhouse" hidden away in the countryside on the least traveled road you can imagine is a true delight. Very pleasant staff, fun atmosphere, great food -- both delicious staples like burgers and unusual items like deep fried avocados -- and a surprising array of wines and beers. Worth a trip for the food, and equally for the experience.... More

Great food. I love burgers, this is definitely one of the best burgers in Texas. Well worth the effort to get there.

For the second time, one of the best cheeseburgers I have ever eaten was at The Alamo Springs Cafe outside of Fredericksburg. The french fries are fresh cut, and the onion rings absolutely enormous. Unfortunately for lunch on a beautiful Saturday in January, they were slammed. Once we ordered, it took almost an hour for our food to be delivered.... More

Stopped by here after tour of LBJ home. Many places SAY they have the best hamburgers, but I think this place really does! Truly outstanding.

I will start by saying it is a bit of a drive but well worth it. Not only do you get to see great views of the hill country but you also get to go to a unique whole-in-the-wall restaurant. The staff is amazing and super personable and accommodating to new customers. We got the garlic and goat cheese appetizer... More

Have been "dining" at Alamo Springs for years. Not your run of the mill place.....a honky tonk .....and hey, they serve fried food so it smells that way. Never had a meal that wasn't delicious. Yes, it's crowded and for a reason: The food is great and the atmosphere, funky!

Way out in the hills, off on a side road to a dead end, is a great roadhouse. Really good food, from burgers to pasta. Inside, it's a diner. Outside, it's a honkeytonk or hill forest patio. Try the onion rings. Feed the cats. Enjoy the unique atmosphere. It's out of the way, but it's a real nice road trip!

My family and I ate here one night with 6 adults and 4 small kids. The place was packed and cramped. It smelled so bad of fried food I walked out smelling like a crisco ball. The menu said groups of 8 or more an 18% tip was added but come to find out your get your own drinks when... More

I prefer thin patties, so I was cautiously optimistic that I would be able to deal with a fat one. Fried green bean app was off-the-charts good, but a skimpy portion. The meat patty was cooked perfectly, just beyond medium. The wheat bun looked and tasted as if my grandmother had just baked it (sorry, too much of a purist... More
