Celebrated 60th wedding anniversary for family this weekend and went to Alamo Springs after formal celebration. Table for 12 was not a problem with a reservation. As always, excellent burgers and accompaniments. Fried avocado was great as were onion rings. One of the few aces that has honor system for wine and beer. Nice trusting touch. Hope people do not... Made the 20 min drive out to Alamo Springs and was pleasantly surprised. Staff was super friendly. Burgers were fantastic. The spicy fries and onion rings were out of this world. Make the drive and check this place out!

Cheeseburger with blue cheese crumbles and jalapeño cheddar bun was absolutely the finest burger we've ever had!! Even the French fries were incredible! Vanilla shake was disappinting. Loved the funky worn country feel of the place. Great waitress and very good prices! 12 beautiful miles from Fredricksburg, on a scenic country road! We'll be back!!!

Awesome burgers. We went here after having it highly recommended by everyone we talked to. We ate here and then watched the bats right up the road but would go here anytime. It's a seat yourself so find you a good spot and settle in for the best burger. The fries and rings are also good. I wish I had... More

We were passing through on our way home from Padre and saw this on TA. Glad to say we stopped... the burger had the perfect char, was a half pound of perfectly seasoned meaty goodness, and was enough to be two meals (why would you want to?!?). We tried the onion rings with a perfect peppery batter, and the hand... More

A short drive out of Fredericksburg - an eclectic building and excellent burgers - probably the best in Gillespie County. Worth the drive. Nothing fancy just good food and fabulous service with a smile. My only gripe is the home-style fries - always soggy and limp. Try twice frying them to crisp them up...

Ate dinner here after watching the bats come out of the bat cave just a stroll down the road. Sat out on the back porch and ate my awesome burger (NOT overcooked) with onion rings and an IBC. Band played around at the front of the place so volume was just right where I sat. Would have had a beer... More

Worth the 15 mile (30 minutes) winding, scenic drive from Fredericksburg to wrap your hands and mouth around the burger that you create with add ons from grilled onions, bacon, mushrooms, avocado, green chilies, the list is endless! The stuffed avocado is my favorite appetizer and is large enough to split among two people!

A bit of a drive out into the country, but worth the trip. In fact, it may be a blessing that it's not so easy to get to. If it where in town, there would always be a long line!! Great Texas country atmosphere. The staff was very friendly, and the service quite informal. You get your own beer and... More

This place is worth the trip and definitely has the tastiest burger around. Cheerful atmosphere and great service!!! Self serve beer and wine is unique.
