Excellent choice off the beaten path

We found this place completely by surprise after a mention of by the park ranger at the Old Tunnel park, and glad we tried it. After getting there, thank goodness we were early...it fills up FAST. So the claim to fame is the "Cover Burger" in Texas Monthly. Currently #3 in the 50 top burgers in... read more

Really disappointed in this place, after waiting 2 hours for our order we decided to leave. Paid for our sodas as we explained to the cashier are reason for leaving, she didn't seem to care. She called the waitress over to tell her we were leaving, she had the same attitude, never apologized or gave an explanation. As we were... More

Alamo Springs Café is a destination for any one that loves a great hamburger, great flavor, huge patties and delicious home made buns. We try to go at least twice a year. Bring a huge appetite with you!

We went to the Alamo Springs Café on our way back from a ranch in the vicinity of Boerne, Texas. It is known in the area for its giant hamburgers, but the menu also contains a variety of other "American" delicacies, like onion rings and deep fried mushrooms. They also have a good selection of beer, including some local brews.... More

Our party ordered 7 different burgers....5 of the orders were wrong when they came back. And they aren't "burgers" at all, they are meatballs in a bun. Finally, the flies......oh the flies. Everywhere the flies.

The burgers are really great! We had them on the jalapeno cheese bun which I highly recommend. They are really huge so bring your appetite or share with a friend. The drinks are on the honor system so you just help yourself. They have all sorts of beers and lucky for me, cider! Make sure you get a cold mug... More

The Alamo Springs café rocks on... I ordered the quail and it was perfectly prepared. The hamburgers and onion rings served to my friends looked delicious. The service was good and great atmosphere. It is the perfect place to bring visitors. I am lucky to live in Fbg.

Driving 10 miles out in the Hill Country is the best part of visiting this “quaint” burger joint. Visiting family that lives in Fredericksburg led to trying this place, never again. Unfortunately, staff does not know how to cook or handle food. French fries potatoes were limp, greasy, and were undercooked. The flavor of raw potato was consistent throughout the... More

Great quaint place. Burgers are very good. Keep in mind that the burgers are really huge! I would definitely recommend having the jalapeno bun. Best time to go is to get tickets to the Old Tunnel first (which usually sells at 5:30), then go to have a burger here.

We met friends for lunch, and once again we got a great cover burger. The burgers are awesome, the onion rings are made on site, and the drive out is beautiful. This little hole in the wall is worth the effort it takes to drive out to, and did I mention the burger and rings were outstanding?
