Eating in a garden environment, with fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs, is unique these days. What is even more unique is a talented young chef who prepares food with a passion. This fine restaurant is setting standards found only in a few of the larger cities. The historic rock house, built in the late 1890s provides the core of the restaurant.

Always a pleasure

We get to Fredericksburg two or three times a year and always include dinner at the Herb Farm. Our travel is usually off-peak so we have experienced only good service and reasonable prep times on every visit. Also we most often sit in the bar (a request not so likely accommodated on busier... read more

The atmosphere was pleasant, hostess staff and servers not overly friendly. My husband were anticipating a wonderful meal but were somewhat disappointed. We loved the beet hummus appetizer, it was a light and refreshing start to our meal. We ordered their version of chicken pot pie, decent flavor but looked like glop on flakey crust. I had spinach and mushroom... More

Restored historical farm house. Restaurant had a delicious lunch served with fresh fruit and salad. Quiche and chicken pot pie are really good. There are cottages, a spa and gift shop with the herb garden .

This was by far the best place we have tried so far. The atmosphere was very nice, waitress was super friendly and the grounds of the courtyard were very nice. I had the chicken pot pie and husband had bacon wrapped meatloaf, both were very good! Will definitely go back!

As some other reviews have mentioned, the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. We went to the website to check hours for the day and saw they were open until 2pm. So, we called to attempt to make a reservation. They have a phone tree that eventually turns over to an answering machine. Part of the message states... More

Very interesting locale with lots of old buildings turned into a gift shop, B&B, gardens and interesting memorabilia artfully placed around the grounds. We went for brunch, my friend had the quiche which was delicious. I had the omelet which was so overcooked that it was burnt and they kindly made me another one and although it was not burnt,... We enjoyed having lunch here with a Friend from Washington D.C. a few days ago. We were greeted promptly by hostess and taken to our table. Our table was next to a large window that looked out onto a garden. The menu offers a wide variety of selections. Our selection ran from a chicken salad to lasagna to meat loaf... More

We hosted our son and future daughter-in-law's rehearsal dinner at the Farm Haus in April 2015. I began planning months in advance and they walked us through each detail with personal attention, suggestions, and an excellent event we will always remember. My daughter-in-law and I visited a few months earlier in order to decide on the menu items and they... More
