Also delicious. We probably should have asked the prices of the specials, but on the other hand I sort of feel like they should mention it when a rib chop is $60. Served with a generous tablespoon of mashed potatoes and one asparagus spear. The other specials were in keeping with the listed menu prices ($42-$48). Service was excellent. The... More

We were so looking forward to AugustE, but we were disappointed by a couple things. Very professional and friendly waiter, but I felt the atmosphere was a little too stuffy. We were looking forward to a good hamburger as they were supposed to have the best burger in town. I ordered the koby burger medium well, it came way overcooked... More

I should have checked Trip Advisor before making a reservation. I am from the east coast, and was visiting with an ex-pate for a girls' weekend in hill country Texas. Décor was redone warehouse - ok. We were seated immediately, and then the nightmare began. First, the wine list is a train wreck. When out waiter came to pour the... More

Still can't believe our experience at the "fine dining establishment." After we were finally seated, 20 minutes late after we had a reservation, only half our table were served the wine we ordered. The others were left with water that was never refilled. Food came out either too cold or broiled to in recognizable. Scampi was tasty until we found... More

The best filet sliders! Still talking about them and trying to figure out how to make them at home! Great bar and a novel of a wine list. Service was awesome too! All around great experience!

Really good formal restaurant just off the main street. We really liked our meal and the service and if you are looking for a formal dinner I would recommend it. It was just not what you would expect in Fredericksburg. The only issue we had was their wine list. Actually is was a wine book. We are talking 20+ pages.... More

My boyfriend and I ate dinner here at the recommendation of someone and frankly just not what we were expecting in Hill Country. The prices were outrageous, the waiter we had was terrible, the food taste was just ok. My boyfriend ordered the lamb and the waiter should have told us that it would take almost an hour for it... The reviews I had heard most certainly puzzled me. I wasn't sure what to think. Hearing more bad then good about this place made my attention for restaurants lead elsewhere. who knew, I was missing out. As we walked in the dining room wasn't to full: the bar was another story. It was jam packed! Since the bar was full... More

Just returned fro a most disappointing evening at August E. The spring mix, pistachio, dried cherry salad was good, but the entree, soft shell crab from the Thai night menu, was a disaster. Menu description read," tempura fried soft shell crab topped with peanut sauce." Preparation was anything but tempura. It was fried so crispy that it was difficult to... More

Hi Southtexasgirl, I am sorry your experience this evening was not on par with the other times you've dined with us. I do hope you try us again, since as you said, you've had "many wonderful experiences here in the past." This one evening was the exemption, not the rule. We really value our local cliental, and appreciate your comments.... More
