I tried August E's for the 1st time November 11th 2005. My boyfriend had found this restaurant and planned a very romantic getaway for a delayed birthday adventure( or so I thought ) . He had contacted the restaurant and told them he needed it to be special.. They worked with him for several months for the right dinner and... more

We had dinner at August E's on a beautiful Saturday evening. The view (and sunset!) from the porch was lovely. The service was wonderful. Our head waiter was very informed and courteous. The egg rolls and crab stack were quite tasty. We ordered a delicious bottle of wine but it wasn't a 2002 as stated on the menu (it was... more

After a few disappointing meals in Fredericksburg we happend upon August E's and decided to have brunch there. The lay out of the restaurant is fabulous. You can sit in the sun looking into the hill country or under a covered area as well near the outside fireplace. The indoor dining area was equally as quaint. It was the first... more

I have been to some of the "better" restaurants in Fredericksburg and found them to be merely adequate. But this place will rival any of the finer restaurants in Houston, Dallas or Austin. The wine selection was great and reasonably priced. The food, from presentation to preparation and flavor, was simply amazing. The staff was attentive and friendly. We sat... more

These folks know what they're doing. Spent the money to create a lovely atmosphere and the owners live and breathe this business. Food was great, the best fish I have ever had and the Wine selection has tripled since our last visit. Keep up the Good Work!!! more

Our food was good and so was the service, but way too expensive. Expect to spend at least $60.00+ each. I would not recommend the margarita's. I had a second one to make sure I wasn't mistaken. I wasn't! more

Four of us had dinner there on December 10, 2005. We arrived minutes before close but from the actions of the staff you would have never known it unlike other places I have been. The food was fantastic! I had a "sampler" if you will of quail, shrimp and chicken that would have to rank as one of the best... more

Was so excited when we discovered this place on the way to Fredericksburg. The setting is very charming, with beautiful views, but wish I could say the same for the rest of the experience. The food was ok, but did not impress me much, which it should have for the price I paid. My filet was chewy, and the side... more

We live here in town and have experienced many places in our wonderful community. My Grandparents were in town so we decided to try August E's even though the review in Texas Monthly was not great (we feel that just because one person was not impressed, to each his own). The wine list was not great. We expected much finer... more
