Cool little spot in a cool little town

Recently visited Fredericksburg for vacation and Otto's was highly recommended. We enjoyed it so much, we ate there twice over a three day visit! We were excited about a good German restaurant- my family is Austrian and I make German food some of the time- but- the service here- particularly the lovely woman with the penchant for modcloth and her mixologist husband were quite wonderful- the waitstaff were cursorily polite at best and the food quite disappointing. You don't have to be heavy to... More

We waited only 10 minutes at the bar for our table. My Manhattan was perfect. It is a relatively small place so if the town is busy you may want to get reservations. Every member of the wait staff was excellent ....the hallmark of a well run restaurant! We both had the duck schnitzel which was very good. The sides... More

Local residents told us about Otto's Bistro. What a great find! Friendly and attentive service and wonderful dinner. Limited menu but everything created from fresh ingredients from their garden and homemade German sausage. Not the touristy German food in Fredericksburg.

We asked the desk clerk at our hotel for a recommendation for dinner and she suggested Otto's. It is a small place but well worth the wait! We had a couple of drinks while we waited for our table. Once we were seated, which was only about 15 minutes, we decided on the bread and butter plate and the duck... More

My duck breast schnitzel in caper sauce, topped with a sunny side duck egg was both visually appealing as well as delicious. My dining partner enjoyed her Nieman Ranch double bone pork chop as well. ( I had never seen such a beautiful pork chop before!) The German sides of Brussels sprouts, spaetzle, and shredded beets rounded out the German... More

We sat outside on the patio, we're new here so decided to try them. I had the salmon and hubby had the special steak fritte, wonderful selection of wines, excellent food. Very attentive Staff, interesting menu, will definitely come back. The following wk decided to try their new place next door "Tubby's, tried 3 different dishes, food was very bland... More

Their menu, wine list, portions, and pricing have improved. This is a treat to go to... comfortable, intimate setting (inside and out). Creative menu and delicious food. Attentive service and friendly owners. We highly recommend dining here and trying their wonderful dishes. Next door, they've also opened Tubby's Icehouse for casual outdoor Caribbean dining... fun!

Atmosphere, food, drinks are delicious! Great menu choices. A favorite in Fred'burg. The restaurant is not large, but has a nice "intimate" feeling. Also a fun place to have an afternoon drink after the Nimitz museum.

My family and I had dinner yesterday night at Otto's in Fredericksburg, TX. Admittedly, we were quite hungry - came back from the Enchanted Rock state park and were looking for food. We had heard about Otto's and purposefully decided to look for it. Well, it was worth it. For appetizer had Gravlax - spice cured salmon, horseradish, capers, pickled... More
