Otto's bills themselves as German cuisine, but half the menu is non-German, so don't be afraid if you are used to the regular heavy German food as theirs is much lighter. I like the fact that each meal has its own vegetables, that are made to go with the main course. Too many restaurants have the same veggies on the... More

This is the type of restaurant that german food lovers will love and german food haters will hate. We're not big german food fans so perhaps take our review in that context. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great and we enjoyed eating on the patio. The flatbread appetizer was absolutely delicious - probably was the singular best item we... More

Not wanting to come across as a complainer, but if you're somewhere where the ribeye is $40+ on the menu, you do expect "a little more." I appreciate an older house being renovated in to an upscale restaurant, but the acoustics were annoying at best .... the most we could hear of the ambiance music over the din of customers... More

Small, enchanting restaurant in Fredericksburg right behind the Nimitz museum. You can eat inside in the cozy dining room, or outside on the patio. It is in a neighborhood, so feels like you are sitting on the front porch. Unfortunately, they don't take reservations, so go for early dinner or off hours to avoid a wait for this now popular... I love Ottos. I celebrated my sweetheart's 30 year retirement along with two special friend's wedding anniversary there and the food, the atmosphere, the wine, the friendly smiling service, the sincere interest as to how our evening went... it all added up to one of those occasions you truly hope for. Highly recommended. You can walk around one of the... More

On a recent trip to Fredericksburg, we stopped in the small town of Hye. When we asked for a good place to eat, we were told there are several very good restaurants Fredericksburg, but if you want something a little different, we needed to try Otto's. This was one of the best meals I have ever eaten. We were told... More

On the plus side, the atmosphere and service were excellent. There were a limited number of choices on the menu. I had the hanger steak which was cooked perfectly and very good and came with a potato and vegetables.. My husband thought that the pork tenderloin was tasteless, except for the sauce. I thought that the prices were good, but... More

We visited on our second night. The first night we toured the Main Street but lots of the places were soulless and serving mass produced food. We received a couple of recommendations from locals re Ottos which is on the street parallel with main street. The waitress was the friendliest, warmest and intelligent person we have met. The food was... More

We had a lovely meal at Otto's! The service was very good and the food delicious. Local beer and wine are available and the portion sizes are generous. We'd definitely eat here again! A lovely way to enjoy Fredericksburg in the evening.

Great evening and meal. Seating inside and outdoors, nice atmosphere either place. Small menu but very versatile. Food was delicious and served in a reasonable amount of time. Service was great--very helpful and friendly server. Owner on the premises and very approachable. Gourmet coffees and, we don't drink, but were told they have a great wine list. Will definitely eat... More
