Stopped in late on Sunday afternoon (9/14/2014) right before they were to close. They waited on us with no problems and didn't try to rush us out the door. Even changed the TV channel for us. We both had the brisket sandwich which was stacked with fresh tasty brisket. The bun was not your standard HB bun and was lightly... More

Not at all fancy but great service and great food. Friendly staff that is helpful for letting you choose what and how you want your food. Not the "tourist" place as at the end of the main street but happy we went there for a "local" place for lunch. Very inexpensive prices for the great food.

we were in the mood for some good BBQ and since we were in TX we thought we could find some. We did , we checked out 2 or 3 places and choose The Pit on Main ST. We choose well. We both had the brisket sandwich and shared some killer green beans. Both were excellent as a confirmed meat... More

Brisket was dry with no flavor. Don't know how they can in good conscience call it barbecue. We ate there because there was plenty of parking at lunch time during the Memorial Day weekend--that should have given us a clue.

We stayed next door at the Itz Inn last month and they didn't have breakfast here. We came back this month and they had started breakfast service with tacos. They were great. I will say, one is enough for most people. My wife and I were headed to Enchanted Rock to climb and hike, so we got 2 tacos apiece.... More

This is a GREAT BBQ place!! I eat here often and I am very picky about where I eat! Ribs, brisket or chicken you can;t go wrong!

I visit Dave's every time I come to Fredericksburg and their bbq has been consistently top-notch with great service and atmosphere. The brisket has a distinct smoke ring and good bark, and most importantly is fall-apart tender. The sausage and ribs are also outstanding. Also, their pinto beans and green beans are phenomenal!

Yucky ' BBQ '. I cannot stress that enough! Service left something to be desired. The BBQ sauce was liquid. The meat contained no flavor. And what I did try to eat --- I was forced to spit it out by my gag reflex. Definitely AVOID this place!!!!

The meat was fall-apart good and you add your own sauce so it is not sopping. There's even the obligatory loaf of white bread! Not the best I've ever ever had, but a very enjoyable meal...the sides were quite good also.
