We had dinner there and, unfortunately, there is nothing good about this restaurant. The only thing is has to offer is that it is on the mail street of Fredericksburg and I think most of the guests just happened upon it and were hungry. The building is old and not charming and not very clean. The waitstaff appeared to be rushed... More

We stopped in to this little restaurant on a Sunday afternoon and enjoyed it very much. The German potato salad was interesting because I am used to chunks of potatoes and this was more like a grated potato, however it was very good. The red cabbage was so good as well as the Reuben sandwich I ordered. My husband had... More

If you are looking for authentic German food this is the place. We went here for dinner and were very pleased. The service was great. The portions were very generous and the price was right.

Wonderful service, fresh rye bread, German beers, and delicious entrees. Biggest Jagerschnitzel I've ever seen and Rinderbrauten (tender slices of roast beef with wine sauce). Yummy red cabbage spiced with cinnamon & cloves. Would definitely go there again.

The food tasted great and we were able to sit fairly quick, but the customer service was very poor. We ordered an extra plate because one of the girls with us wasn't going to be eating much. Little were we aware that they charged us an extra dollar! They also ONLY accept cash, check, American Express and Discover. If you... More

I grew up eating German food from Munich and I was really looking forward to Schnitzel from here. It was better than other places here in Fredericksburg, but still overcooked and bland. Red Cabbage was almost mush and the hot potato salad was just OK.

There are any number of good German restaurants in Fredericksburg, TX, but this one stood out for us because of the homey atmosphere and intriguing menu. We weren't disappointed. Friendly caring service, delicious food and comfortable.

The wurst (sausage) and hot mustard reminded me of my days living in Germany. The warm sauerkraut and German potato salad were as close as one can get in the US to the "real thing". Prices were not bad and the serving sizes were adequate. One surprise, they do not take Visa or MasterCard.

My husband and I have been visiting Fredericksburg several times a year for 8 years. We have tried most of the other restaurants in town and always wind up back at Der Lindenbaum. It is THE best German food either of us have ever had and I grew up in a VERY German family and my grandmother is one amazing... More
