Don't expect haute cuisine, but great 'wurst'

As the title says, don't go in here hoping to find some interesting twist on the latest foody craze on your plate, but if you like a good old wurst, go for the burgemeisters plate and just enjoy it. Maybe just a tat pricy, but all and all a great classic Texgerman restaurant

Excellent service and quality of service. We had the bratten with spatzle & red cabbage with German potato salad. Reasonably priced and attractive / authentic surroundings. Wide variety authentic German menu items.

We always have to eat here when we visit Fredericksburg as it's our favorite ! We spent four years in Germany and this place serves pretty authentic food ! The Jager Schnitzel is our favorite , served with red cabbage and German potatoes salad ! 😛 Delishious !!! Do take cash or a cheque book as they don't except credit... More

We're not experts regarding how German food tastes in Germany, but have always had a great meal at Der Lindenbaum. It is on our short list for dinner when we stop over in Fredericksburg. The service is always good. We have never had any complaints.

My first time trying German food. My friend and I both had the Schnitzel and it was good. Our waitress was nice but was often nowhere to be found, especially when we needed our check or waiting on change. Check what payment methods they take, a group at another table was caught off guard because they didn't accept a particular... More

It definitely feels authentically German. Our waitress was German, the place has a neat old feel to it. But, the food wasn't very good. My German beer and the sauerkraut were awesome, but maybe I just don't like Schnitzel, as I didn't care for mine or my husband's. I also found it strange they don't take MasterCard. Luckily we had... We had dinner here this evening. Really authentic German atmosphere. I had the Weiner Schnitzel with red cabbage and potatoes, which was delicious. My husband opted for the sausages, and said they were the best he'd ever eaten. But best of all was dessert, the best chocolate mousse cake I've ever had. A chocoholic's dream! And the price was reasonable,... More

The server was very attentive and anticipated our needs. The food was as authentic as we've had since we moved back from Germany. They don't take credit cards but take checks! Thank you so much!

The atmosphere is, indeed, gemutlich. On a previous visit I had the Konigsberger Klopse and it was delicious! The meatballs were incredibly tender and flavorful, and the sauce is rich and deeply flavored. On my most recent visit I had the Jager Schnitzel. It was authentic German cuisine and quite good. The potato salad has unusual seasoning, quite German, and... More

The food was good German food. We did enjoy the meal. However the fact that they don't accept Visa or Mastercard should be told upfront by a big sign and from the hostess. That overshadowed the food.
