Stepping back in time for authentic German cuisine, this restaurant serves great food with good service. We enjoyed all of our selections and, having eaten in Germany, can attest to the authenticity. Desserts looked great but we did not have room - next time!

my wife and I shared the schnitzel with onions, a coke and an order of bread. Service was pleasant and swift. Food was served hot - meal came with tasty potatoes and red cabbage. We wanted dinner, but during the five hour drive we snacked on peanuts and potato chips. Not the restaurant's fault but reality.

The food here was really great. The service was good. They do not get in a hurry to serve you, but once you get your food, it is worth it! The portions are huge!

Came with a friend to get our "fix" for German food while in Fredericksburg. We both ate every bite on our plates of pork loin, German potato salad and red cabbage. We also had a mixed salad and a cucumber salad, which could have served two people. The restaurant was cozy and cool on a hot day. Our waitress was... More

We dined at Der Lindenbaum Restaurant on Thursday, September 11, 2014. We were greeted warmly when we entered the restaurant and seated almost immediately. The service from that point was superb....our waitress was very attentive, helpful, and prompt. My wife ordered a sausage plate and I ordered the jagerschnitzel. We were both very pleased with our selections, particularly the "sweet... More

First time at this restaurant...I've had better, I've had worse. Had the plate with the three different sausages. Served with sour kraut and potato salad. Kraut was flavorful, sausage was okay, and potato salad needed help. Portions were reasonable and priced fairly. Service was average from what appeared to be an over worked server. I would like to try another... More

We went to Der Lindenbaum with no knowledge of the restaurant. We were amazed at the quality of the food. The title says it all. The food was great, the service was great, and we had an enjoyable meal. Having visited quite a few German restaurants, we think this one is among the tops. Our only surprise was that they... More

Der Lindenbaum is a quaint Texan-German restaurant. The staff were very friendly and the service was prompt. Their menu is focussed on just a few German dishes and they have a list of German beers. Both food and drink were expensive for what we got. The portions were generous and my partner's schnitzel was good but my own dish of... More

The schnitzel here was amazing. The one with mushrooms was the best. The potatoes were also very tasty. Would recommend this place for lunch or dinner.
