The food tasted great and we were able to sit fairly quick, but the customer service was very poor. We ordered an extra plate because one of the girls with us wasn't going to be eating much. Little were we aware that they charged us an extra dollar! They also ONLY accept cash, check, American Express and Discover. If you... More

I grew up eating German food from Munich and I was really looking forward to Schnitzel from here. It was better than other places here in Fredericksburg, but still overcooked and bland. Red Cabbage was almost mush and the hot potato salad was just OK.

There are any number of good German restaurants in Fredericksburg, TX, but this one stood out for us because of the homey atmosphere and intriguing menu. We weren't disappointed. Friendly caring service, delicious food and comfortable.

The wurst (sausage) and hot mustard reminded me of my days living in Germany. The warm sauerkraut and German potato salad were as close as one can get in the US to the "real thing". Prices were not bad and the serving sizes were adequate. One surprise, they do not take Visa or MasterCard.

My husband and I have been visiting Fredericksburg several times a year for 8 years. We have tried most of the other restaurants in town and always wind up back at Der Lindenbaum. It is THE best German food either of us have ever had and I grew up in a VERY German family and my grandmother is one amazing... More

We eat here EVERY time we visit Fredericksburg, consistent German fare. This time I had goulash, tender and delish with traditional red cabbage on the side with warm buttered noodles.

We ate a variety of dishes, including chocolate mousse. All passed the "delicious food" category! Reuben sandwich was perfect. You got to put own sauerkraut on the sandwich, made to your liking. Wiener schnitzel was also good and both dishes were served with red cabbage and German potato salad. Yummy!

Fredericksburg is a quaint German town but the food makes it perfect. This was an excellent choice for good German food. Great selection. The schnitzel was excellent and the Reuben sandwich was perfect.
