Late lunch in Fredericksburg, TX

Der Lindenbaum is one of the best German food restaurants in Fredericksburg. It is a small cozy rock wall dining room. Beware parking in Fdkbg on a sunny weekend it can be a bear. We went to Der Lindenbaum for a late lunch around 2:00pm. Just a tad later would have been better, the crowds die down... read more

Excellent food and atmosphere. Had the sausage dinner with 3 kinds of sausage and they were all good. Waiters were fast and friendly.

Food was ok. Not a big selection of beer even for a biergarten and the poor waitress had to apologize almost every time she made it to the table. Long wait for food, no mugs for beer, but she did her best and kept smiling. Actually, her attitude was the only thing that kept us there after the first round.

If you know real German food and you want some Schnitzel this is the place to go. The red velvet cake for dessert was unbelievable! We all agreed it was insanely good and unbelievably heavy and thick with buttercream frosting, but we loved it so much we wish we could have enjoyed it again some other time. We would definitely... We've been to Germany, and this schnitzel was as good as anything we had there! It's nothing fancy, just a small dining room in an old house, but it's worth a try. Be aware, they do not take Visa/Mastercard. So come with Amex or Discover, or cash.

Absolutely the best schnitzel we've had stateside plus really good red cabbage & potatoes. The staff was so friendly & really went the extra mile to ensure we were happy.

Best authentic German food on the strip. Get the jaeger schnitzel. It was by far the best thing on the menu. It's a little pricey, but worth it.

If you are looking in a German inspired town for some German style food, this is a good place to be, it has some twists to american culture but you can keep some of the German dishes. I like it, service is great and they are fast on moving you out, they know their business. Tap water has a suspicious... More

And I have never been a huge red cabbage fan but have gained an appreciation for it when combined with a good schnitzel. And this was the best red cabbage ever; perfect flavors. Our schnitzels were pork and served with two sides. Everything was very good and cooked perfectly. Service was also good. Most of the restaurants were packed and... More
