We were looking for authentic German food and decided on this restaurant. I'm not sure it was authentic, but schnitzel that was very well prepared. The German potato salad was similar to loaded mashed potatoes (which I happen to love). The cabbage was good as well Portions were large and had we not been traveling, we would have brought half... It was a satisfactory meal. I wasn't disappointed but wouldn't go stampeding back there either. Could have been a bit friendlier.

We make it a point to eat here at least once every time we visit Fredericksburg. It's a very small one-room place, so you need to get there early, or they do fill up. Kawill, In your review, I believe you may be thinking of another place, because the bar is in the same room as the restaurant and there... More

Mom's potato and cheese soup was fantastic and so was the homemade bread. But, the potato salad and saurkraut (sp?) was a little too authentic for my taste.

This restaurant was recommended by personnel at the Nimitz Museum. Our first visit result from having my Father enshrined on the memorial wall in 2009. Our experience was excellent, the food was very good and the atmosphere is what you would expect at a quaint German establishment. We return at least one a year and have made it a tradition... More

Dined here on a Saturday night. We were told there would be a 30 minute wait and told we could wait in the bar by some hostess who seemed kind of irritated. Instead of showing us where the bar was, we had to figure it out ourselves. Sat on some clunky old couches and drank off-tasting cokes until pager lit... More

On my second visit to Fredericksburg, I wanted to enjoy German food it's so well known for. The restaurant was recommended by locals and I went in expecting a good lunch. I had curry wurst and my son also ordered wurst. I've never eaten such dry and even hard sausage. My son's were even worse. I imagine the problem was... More

Visited downtown Fredericksburg,Texas in December. Had fun looking at quaint shops, visited pacific museum and had lunch at Der Lindenbaum restaurant. We all tried something different...I ordered one of my favorite things..curry wurst . When I visit Germany I always order this treat and while this was a little different version it was still great.

Surprised to see Wiener Schnitzel made with pork and not veal. Good but not as good as made by an Austrian teacher for her German language students in Scotland. Enjoyed the German beer.

Great service. Great food. Recommend the ribeye. The beer was not skunky and staff was nice. Warm atmosphere. Good times.
