We ate two mornings in a row a typical breakfast of bacon & eggs. The bacon was thick & hearty. The eggs were cooked according to request. The service was quick & friendly. more

I know that most people like this restaurant but seriously - it really was some of the worst food we have had in years. On top of it all is that it is not cheap. $17 for a breaded talapia smothered in cheese with faded baby carrots [no salad comes with it]. We also had the fetticini alfredo which was... more

We were looking for something different and stumbled on this wonderful resturant. The food, atmosphere and the service were second to none. It is actually in an old cellar. more

Girlfriend and I went back in September and really enjoyed it. So much so that we went back Sunday before we left. We were hoping to get a brunch, Sunday but they didn't have anything so we went with just the regular menu, still amazing. The Peach Bread Pudding will set you free. All of the food was outstanding, and... more

My husband and I spent an anniversary weekend in Frederickburg and asked some locals a good place for lunch, the Rathskeller was recommended. It was a little hard to find being in the basement of a building and not that well marked. Then when we got inside I got a little scared because of the ambiance, or lack there of.... more

My husband and I spent a weekend in Frederickburg, Tx and we came across Rathskeller for breakfast. We ordered the eggs benedict and the German apple crepes. The food didn't take long at all and I have to say my husband and I agreed that those were the best eggs benedict we've had in a long time and this is from... more

You know, you visit some restaurants and the waiter won't leave you alone to enjoy your meal. Then there are other restaurants where they ignore you completely until you get up to leave. Well, our experience at the Rathskeller was neither. In fact, our waiter, Kai, was perfect. He knew exactly when we were ready for refills, the check, etc.... more

We have dined and recommended Rathskeller many times. The food is always fresh and delicious. It is moderately priced and the waitstaff is informative and friendly. They have a good wine selection as well. Because the location is below ground and the floor is concrete, it can be alittle noisy in the front. Our suggestion is to head to the... more

My wife and I celebrated our 27th anniversary this weekend in Fredericksburg, and had breakfast (wife had Eggs Benedict, and I had the smoked salmon & eggs) here. We enjoyed it so much, we made dinner reservations, and the entire staff treated us like we were special...the manager came to our table & greeted us, & wished us Happy Anniversary,... more

We were seated in a little side alcove with no windows and felt a little claustrophobia setting in. I know that since it was in the basement of the old hospital, windows were not really an option. But diners beware of that before eating here, just in case. It took forever to get our food, and the restaurant was not... more
