Great rouladen; bad potato salad

I strongly recommend the Rouladen at this restaurant. It was very well done. For those who might not know what this is, it's a thin slice of beef, seasoned and wrapped around onion and pickle. It's very tasty; lots of flavor. I also enjoyed the spaetzle, which for me is mandatory for German... read more

The cabbage and sausage soup was so salty I almost could not eat it, the rolls were not tasty or soft. The Jägerschnitzel was good and you could choose a white wine or red wine version.

We have eaten at this restaurant a couple of times thru the years. Our riding group makes an attempt to stop here when we stay in Fredericksburg. Good food, good beer. Several of our group commented that they really like the German food served there. If you go with a large group, make sure you get separate checks as that... More

The food was fresh and (for us) we could say that we had German Food in this German Village. We were there just before noon. The restaurant got busy quickly during lunch on Weekend. We like the tasty potato soup with bacon and Opa sandwiches.

We decided to go to the Auslander because we were told it had good food.....so we walked down the block and stepped in. I have to admit, I felt like I was in Bavaria when I walked in. It has a dark decor with German signs, posters, and stuffed animals on the walls. The elk in the main dining room... More

Ok the beer was a Five star. The red cabbage Five star. The live entertainment Four star (too loud - couldn't carry on conversation). The presentation on the plate - Two star (appeared thrown on - not appetizing); What really turned me off - while I like dogs, I don't enjoy having dogs beg at my table. There were customers... While visiting Fredericksburg we wanted to experience German food and had asked the visitor center employee for a recommendation. She provided us with two or three but we chose the Auslander. It was a warm day and we chose to eat outside in the rear of the restaurant. It is semi enclosed which is perfect for any weather. The food... More

Recommended by our hotel, we were delighted with the service and the quality of food served at the German-styled Auslander Restaurant in Fredericksburg, TX. You have a choice of inside or outside dining; there is a bar area. The restaurant can accommodate bus groups and large families. There is plenty of room. Sparsely decorated but tastefully so. Food portions were... More

We could not get in to the restaurant of our choice so we walked into this place. My first impression was that they want you in and out in a hurry. I was correct. The Iced tea was awful and getting a lemon was like pulling teeth. The server was not friendly at all. Our food was awful so we... More
