The place was packed but we had no waiting. Service started out a little slow. The food was just OK. Most of our group thought it was bland. We tried the stuffed potatoes skins, chicken salad sandwich, grilled chicken, fried mushrooms and the apple strudel. Maybe German food just has it's own taste, I am not sure, but we did... More

We were in Fredericksburg on a Tuesday and found that most of the German restaurants were closed on Tuesdays! This one was certainly not our first choice, but we were primed for German food, so we thought we would try it. It was way too COLD in the restaurant and even after flagging down a server and getting the ceiling... More

It was only April, but the restaurant opens out to their Biergarten, and was hot and uncomfortable. We did not stay for a meal.

Great place get some really tasty beers and watch your favorite teams on 4 screens at the bar. Good German food too. Best of all is the wonderful staff. Not only do they make you feel at home but they are knowledgable about the the beers and can help you find your new favorite. Try the Hoegaarden! Special shout out... More

Dined here with spouse. Sat in the beer garden area. Not too busy. Waters and menus brought. Took about 10 mins for waiter to return for orders. Took another 20+ minutes for our food; we watched people seated after us get their food before us. Not cool. The sausage from Opa's was delicious, but next time I might buy my... More

German food. High hopes were dashed by dirty beer glass and "warm" but not "hot" food. Service was good and pretty fast.

Food was ok, but the service was awful. We placed our beer order and the bartender spent 10 minutes talking with people while orders piled up. Then, our order sat there in view for at least 10 minutes. I asked if I needed to go and get it myself....they then brought it to us. Atmosphere is good but be prepared... More

We judged the German food as just passable. I had Schnitzel Art (the poor man's version of Wiener Schnitzel because they use pork instead of veal), and my wife had Sauerbraten. We've both had much better versions at many other German restaurants (though not in Fredericksburg). The seating areas included the bar, a patio area (where a band was playing),... More

German food was good, entertainment not so much, and service at bar unsatisfactory the night we went.
