Tuesdays can be funny in Fredericksburg as a lot of the restaurants are closed. Auslander was indeed open and the staff were fun, helpful and efficient. Our waitress helped my wife select her first German meal and I had a Reuben sandwich because they do it well here. The potato pancakes are not latkes but they are crisp and delicious.... More

Go for the beer selection, not for the food. Menu has good German food options, but food was cold and very bland. Fredericksburg has much better places for German cuisine.

The food was average, but our server was above average! Kudos to the young man. He was personable, knowledgeable and very prompt.

Although we're not experts in German food, we found this to be a little lacking. The value was good, atmosphere, food and service were okay. Had we been in the mood for live music, dinner in the Biergarten might have been fun.

Stopped in for dinner. Not really too busy, but it was midweek and not yet tourist season. All sausage dishes have sausages from Opa's (delicious)! Potato pancakes aren't like latkes, but were still good. Good beer selection and nice atmosphere in the beer garden area in the back.

Most of the restaurants in Fredericksburg seem closed on Tuesdays so keep that in mind if you are planning a visit. I really wasn't impressed with this place. We wanted to try German food and this was the only one open. Our waiter was absentminded. He brought me a beer without a glass and finally remembered that I wanted one... More

Great as always; I ordered the Jagerschitzel which was delicious. I ordered the spaetzle and the potato pancakes. Others in our party ordered a burger, salad, and cabbage rolls. All was yummy! We got there early, about 530pm, as this place tends to get very busy. Service was excellent; I think we were there maybe 45 minutes? The only thing... More

The place was packed but we had no waiting. Service started out a little slow. The food was just OK. Most of our group thought it was bland. We tried the stuffed potatoes skins, chicken salad sandwich, grilled chicken, fried mushrooms and the apple strudel. Maybe German food just has it's own taste, I am not sure, but we did... More

We were in Fredericksburg on a Tuesday and found that most of the German restaurants were closed on Tuesdays! This one was certainly not our first choice, but we were primed for German food, so we thought we would try it. It was way too COLD in the restaurant and even after flagging down a server and getting the ceiling... More

It was only April, but the restaurant opens out to their Biergarten, and was hot and uncomfortable. We did not stay for a meal.
