Fun Place to Have Lunch`

We live only about 20 miles from Fredericksburg, but had never been to the Airport Diner. We were having a day out for our 32nd anniversary, so we decided to stop there for lunch. It was a good choice. Food was plain, not gourmet, but very good; remember it is a "diner". I had a corned beef... read more

If you want a great breakfast, reasonably priced, in a wicked cool (immaculate) 1940s WWII-themed diner, this is the place! Wife and I ate here while visiting Fredericksburg and were very pleased with the quality of food and service overall. Restaurant sits on flight line of airport, so it's fun to watch the general aviation land & take off. Big... More

Consistently good food and service! There's a different Blue Plate special every day that's well presented and by 11:30 the diner is usually packed with people. Only open 11-2 Wednesday through Sunday. Homemade chips, wonderful shakes, all while watching the small airplanes takeoff and land out the booth windows. Right next to the Hanger Hotel which is decorated in a... More

Well we got the view and a great looking place but the food left allot to be desired. Burger and fries reminded me of highschool cafeteria food and that's not good.

This diner was a bit hard to find, but was worth the effort. We ate breakfast for lunch. I love places that let me eat what I'm in the mood for. Everything was tasty. I asked the waitress about the grits. She said they were excellent. She was not wrong. This dinner is adjacent to the tarmac at the airport.... More

Great nostalgic atmosphere, with diner kitch. We arrived for late lunch on a quiet Thursday afternoon. Service was slightly rude and annoyed. There was a slight impatience with my 80 yr old parents and their questions. The food was decent sandwiches/fries. Drink refills were hard to come by. The reason to come to this restaurant is the view of the... More

We had breakfast at the Diner two mornings and enjoyed the ample proportions and variety of the menu. The wait staff were efficient and friendly "Diner Dolls". The diner does have limited hours: Monday and Tuesday: Closed; Wednesday & Thursday 11:00AM - 2:00PM; Friday 8:00AM - 2:00PM; Sataurday 8:00AM - 4:00PM and Sunday 8:00AM - 2:00PM

We had good reports from friends concerning this restaurant and decided to try it. The restaurant resembles a 1940s dinner and is located adjacent to the Fredericksburg air field. Next door is the Hanger Hotel. Our party arrived early for lunch because we were informed seating is limited if the restaurant is crowded. We selected a booth and noted that... More

We went for breakfast around 10:30 a.m. The place is super clean and everything all shiny. Looked great. Our breakfast was not good. The omelet was just OK. The bacon and sausage inside were hard and cold. The biscuits were cooked longggg o.k. They didn't even bother to reheat them. The potatoes were also hard and cold. We should have... More

We had a wonderful time at this location and never knew it was their. A friend took use and the food was very good. The service was very poor had to wait a long time for our drinks and food. There was only 2 servers working and many people had to wait. Fun watching the planes coming and going. And... More
