We ordered two of the schnitzel meals and, oh my, I haven't had anything that good since I was serving in Germany 25 years ago. Outstanding food and plenty of it.

We try to eat here every visit to F,burg but. it had been several years and we saw lots of changes since our last visit. However this bakery is timeless. We were two adults and two kids and every one had something different. Crepes! German pancake (huge so one is plenty). Omelet and potato pancakes were all great. Get there... More

We stopped for lunch after shopping the unique shops in downtown Fredericksburg. The lunch special ($8.99) was enough food for two people - and the drink (tea) was included with the price. The waitress was super nice and informative about the restaurant and the service was excellent. Take some of the pastries home for later but be aware that they... More

Ate at 3 German restaurants during our stay. By far this was the best. Reminded me of grandma's house back in the 60s! Jager schnitzel was the best. German potatoes authentic and the red cabbage rocked with the bacon bits in it. To full so sample our bakery yet but it looks great. Good service, great authentic food, and they... More

The sauerbraten was homemade and reminded me of my late grandmother's cooking. The friendly casual staff made the experience relaxed and enjoyable. Plan on returning for breakfast as the menu looks fantastic.

Since we knew it would be packed for Oktoberfest wkend, we opted to go Monday morning, what a treat nice and quiet. The servings are huge and a great variety, the pastries are great to take home. What a little gem.

We ate at nearly every German restaurant in town. Most were okay, a few really bad. We stopped here for pastries and saw their specials. Wow, this place reminded me of growing up. They still had the schnitzels, but they also had more of the real every day German food I was used to. Real German pancakes and meatloaf. Some... More
