The Horseshoe has changed their name back to the Pioneer Café. This was originally the Pioneer Café when it opened years ago. The food is always good and like Mother's home cooking. On Friday's it's catfish and it is really good.

Agree with other reviews... Friendly attentive wait staff. Ordered hamburger to go and it was fantastic . and fast. They also had a delicious looking buffet containing pot roast, veggies, chicken fried steak and more. Highly recommend!

Food was very good and fresh. When I pulled in (2) police officers were inside eating and so, I knew that it must be good. While waiting on my food I quickly picked up the vibe that this was where the locals came to hang out and I was glad that I choose to eat here. I would go back... More

This is a chef owned and operated cafe which is now open from 7 A.M. until 8 P.M. M-S and for brunch from 9-3 on Sunday. Every item ordered is prepared freshly before being served and they use the freshest local ingredients they can find. Breakfast and lunch items are equally sure to please the most discriminating palate. The delicious... More

I found this place by accident while driving to San Antonio. At first I was skeptical and didn’t know what to expect. Those thoughts faded as soon as I received my order. I got the Cheeseburger basket and ice tea. I was not disappointed. The burger was a mouthwatering combination of a large handmade pattie on a toasted bun, piled... More

Stopped here on our way home from San Antonio while on the road that goes on forever, I like trying resturants like this and getting away from the chains. The food was great and inexpensive, service and atmosphere were terrific. Everyone seemed to know everyone else that came in but they were all friendly enough that we didn't feel left... More
