Adventuresome dining

Dined with my nephew and his wife. We had wild boar, elk, buffalo and quail, dishes that you don't normally find at fine dining restaurants. All were delicious, but the buffalo (cooked medium rare) was outstanding. The chocolate cke we shared for dessert was only so-so. A very enjoyable evening.

For years, Bonnell's has been our "go to" place for quiet family dinners and celebrations. The owner, his wife, the wait staff and bartenders have been wonderful to us. Up until the last year or so, the food and atmosphere were equally good, dependable and high quality. Things have changed slowly but significantly. Not only is the atmosphere subdued and... More

Was in Fort Worth doing some shopping and drove past this steak house. Stopped by for my wife to have steak and found out that we where early for dinner so we went to the bar and meet Dan. It was so great to be spoiled by him. The drinks were great the staff was very attentive and the food... More

We have been trying different restaurants in Ft. Worth for a while now and this one has been on my list. We finally made it there and it was FANTASTIC! I chose our menu items so we could sample and share because I wanted so many things on the menu. We had the mini elk tacos (OMG, YUM) roasted jalapeno... More

We have eaten here a few times. Each time the service was excellent. The food is very good with a great variety. The pepper crusted buffalo tenderloin was fantastic. I can also attest to the magnificent lamb chops. The wine list is one of the best for choice and selection in the area. We will dine here again. I'm a... More

Have heard good things about Bonnell's for some time. Finally found an occasion to take in the place and was very pleasantly surprised with the level of service and quality of meal. Ordered two filets - New York and baseball cut. Both were excellent cuts and tender beyond belief. Service was functional and non-obtrusive. One glitch - even though we... More

If you like your meals heavily salted and buttered, then Bonnell's is the place for you. Our guess is that the beef and redfish beneath the over-seasoning were quite good, but almost impossible to know. We had high hopes for this restaurant given the chef-owner's accolades, but were sadly disappointed. The Redfish was the more heavily seasoned between the two.... More

My wife and I really enjoy the food and atmosphere here. Both the domestic meats and wild fare are excellently prepared. The menu provides an excellent variety of meats and seafood options; the side dishes are excellent as well. The last visit was hosting our two grown sons. Being that they are both proud carnivores, they were blown away! My... More

My favorite is the steak, but others loved their fish. The appetizers are really special. Great place for a special occasion or a family meal. Friendly and efficient service. My favorite restaurant in Fort Worth.

The service was great and the food mouth watering good. They accommodated us with a good table with the best view. Our waitress was friendly and very knowledgeable about the entrees. Overall I give it five stars.
