I had a chance to have dinner at Bonnell's and it was wonderful. The restaurant has a great feel to it and is perfect for private dinners or business meals. I ended up ordering a sampling platter of Elk, Buffalo and Quail which was wonderful, cooked perfectly and very flavorful. My other guest had a bone in ribeye and it... More

John Bonnell the owner and chef is a really great guy and family man. He sometimes teaches cooking classes at the Central Market in Fort Worth that are informative and a lot of fun and well...the food goes without saying. Specializes in wild game but offers regular steak and seafood for those not inclined to experiment. Service is super friendly... More

While visiting my sister in the FW area, we decided to try something different and unique...glad we chose Bonnell's. Arrived on a Tuesday night..parking lot was packed, but restaurant hostess (from Key West) placed us at a table within 3 minutes (no reservation). Started with a couple cocktails, then ordered the Bruschetta, then main entrees. We shared (still not sure... More

Definitely a place where those who don't like mounted heads of various game displays should not go! The menu features several game animals. I got the boar, and it was simply outstanding. Wrapped in bacon, it was cooked perfectly (I like it rare) and was so tender you hardly needed a regular knife, much less a steak knife. I had... More

I had lunch today at Bonnell's, my first visit, prompted by high recommendations from friends. Hostess was friendly and I was seated promptly. Interior is classy without being pretentious. Serving staff was efficient and obviously well-trained. Water glass was kept full, and service was attentive, in spite of several large Christmas luncheons in progress. The cornbread pancake with flavor-infused butters... More

What a great place - you should definitely go here. Wide range of interesting plates. The food was perfect (try the ostrich if it is on special). Wine selection was good and service was sharp.

Music doesn't start until late, restaraunt has a chain feel, like a Chili's or Cheddars. Wait staff was efficient. Food was blah and did not seem fresh, definitely not a place to go if you are a foodie. Supposed to be good southern food, but it was all just blah. My grandmother cooks better grits and fried chicken.

We have visited Bonnell's several times over the years on trips through DFW area. Although we are always on the lookout for new restaurants, Bonnell's always is in the mix. Every aspect of this top notch restaurant earns an "A". Interior is club-like without being overdone, the hostesses genuinely welcoming, the wait staff attentive, well-informed & friendly...yet don't loom over... More

My Lovely Bride and I were part of a larger party having dinner at Bonnell's Restaurant in SW Fort Worth on Aug. 21 as a part of our "Restaurant Week" festivities. Our server, Tammy, was quite cordial and efficient. She did not hover over us, but we did not get any sense of lack of service and are quiet pleased... More

We'd both been to Bonnell's years ago but we went there to take advantage of restaurant week. Glad we did. Food - all outstanding on the restaurant week menu. I went with the house salad - queso fresca and jalapeño infused vinegarette made for a little kick in the salad. For an entree, I went with the smoked prime beef... More
