Well the entire meal was fabulous...we went for restaurant week for a 'peak' to see what it was like. We were offered the menu for that, but they told us we could order a la carte for the appetizers, so we indulged. We had the rattlesnake/rabbit sausage; elk sliders; and lobster hushpuppies. What a combination of flavors, my favorite was... More

Ate here for dinner. Had elk slider, rabbit-rattlesnake sausage, boar ribs for apps. Had Mac n cheese and beets for sides. Had beef tenderloins and elk for main course. Everything was very good. Nothing was hot though, including the plates. We sat in the back room and felt a bit isolated and the room had little ambiance. Server was very... More

My husband and I dined here on a recent Monday. Our original reservations were for 7:30, but after wandering the Stockyards and finding everything closed at 6, we went to Lonesome Dove earlier. They immediately seated us--fairly empty. Our server recommended a few dishes, including the kangaroo nachos (wouldn't get again) and the elk sliders (would! Delicious!) and the pork... More

The beef tenderloin is the most flavorful, tender cut of beef that I have experienced on this planet. The chocolate cake with a touch of jalapeño will delight chocolate lovers.

Rattlesnake? Elk? Rabbit? Antelope! Wild boar! Along with more traditional options, including steak, scallops, foie gras and lamb. It was hard making choices because the unusual and traditional all sounded fabulous! Four of us enjoyed a fabulous dinner. Everything we tried - we loved! You just can't go wrong. Add to that great service, a delightful ambience and a chance... More

Even though we made our reservations 3 wks ahead of time, we were placed in a basement beside the main restaurant. It was dark and dreary with one waiter for the entire basement and a person who refilled water glasses. That one waiter wasn't around most of the time. Apparently, he also was waiting on an area upstairs. We waited... More

Tim Love has updated LD after the fire and seems to have his mojo back. It is a great representation of Ft Worth style southwestern cuisine. This is an expensive restaurant so be forewarned. The menu is half TL standards and seasonal additions. There is always a great roster of appetizers. Love must sell the hell out of the lobster... More

My brother in law treated us to a dinner at the Lonesome Dove and I have to say, I have not had a finer meal anywhere. Terrific decor and creative, delicious food. I don't know what he paid...think it is expensive, but hey, I enjoyed every bite!

Sure, you can get a top notch steak here, too, but why when there are such interesting dishes such as wild boar ribs, elk sausage sliders, kangaroo carpaccio and elk medallions on the menu? Everything was delicious, well conceived and executed. There was no hint of gamey flavor as they truly know what they are doing when preparing wild game.... More
