The menu is amazing. Appetizers from lobster hush puppies, kangaroo nachos, elk sliders to main courses of duck, elk, ribeye, scallops. The chef Tim Love is well known for his great combinations. The atmosphere and staff are also top notch. The price is in line with this caliber. The jalapeño cucumber margarita with a glass barb wire stirrer fit right... More

I had been wanting to try Lonesome Dove ever since seeing Chef Tim Love on Top Chef: All-Stars, but just hadn't made it. When I asked my mom what she might want to do for Mother's Day, she suggested heading on over to Cowtown, since this was her favorite restaurant. My mom had requested we sit in Chris's section, as... Tim Love is a great chef and the food is very good. But Tim Love also likes to do things a little differently! This is really a good thing for those seeking something more original; however I have had steak on my 3 trips the Lonesome Dove and was alway very satisfied. The nice thing is there are unusual items... More

Went here with friends when we were visiting from CA and were really impressed with the service and quality of the food. My husband had a piece of the rabbit-rattlesnake sausage app and we all tried a little piece - it was very good. My friend and I split the Wagyu rib eye and it was so good and so... More

Interesting menu with things like kangaroo, quail, rattlesnake, etc. that were well prepared and very tasty. The chef certainly knows what sides/tastes/spices go with each entree and I'd say you can trust that everything not only goes together, but tastes amazing! Of course, you pay for this and the prices are a bit high for this semi-frugal Midwestern lad -... More

We sat at the bar for dinner on a weekday night. Friendly bartender. Good drinks. Beer available only in bottles because the building is too old to plumb for taps. Excellent steaks. Fresh vegetables. Try it if you're in the mood for a fine albeit pricey dinner. You will not be sorry.

Every time I go to Texas, I am drawn to the Lonesome Dove. This time I took a group of 12 for dinner and it was nothing short of remarkable. The hostess, wait staff and manager were completely attentive. The food was amazing. Go here!

This was an unusual trip out with my brother-in-law and my 5-yr old son. Lonesome Dove came highly recommended and I can see why! SERVICE: This was top-notch. From the manager holding the door for us on the way in and the great front-of-the-house treatment to the excellent team-trained wait staff. In the case of Lonesome Dove, the service definitely... Went here with a group of friends expecting a memorable experience—and we got our wish, though not quite in the way we had hoped. On arrival, we were greeted and shown to our table. The restaurant is rather dark but pleasant. There are lots of tables so one is quite close to the other diners, but that was ok. The... More
