Neat place and good food

We were told by friends to eat at the Cattlemen's Steak House, we went while visiting the stock yards. The restaurant is definitely worth going. Food was very good. My only surprise was that a family eating a few tables away from us had a small dog they had brought in with them. The dog was at... read more

This place had upscale prices but the food is something that I could get at any midlevel chain. The 11 oz sirloin was cooked well and tasted good but no different than a chain steak house where you could get it for half the price. The baked potato was good. The salad was small and nothing special. They serve hot... More

It was a good steak, but it is not a fine dining steakhouse. It was loud. The servers wear country looking costumes and the tables have plastic table cloths. Good place to take to take kids but not for couples wanting a quiet dinner together.

The place is dark and dingy. The steaks are prepackaged, would have expected more. The shrimp appetizer tasted OK but the sauce burned my lips and it took days to heal.

We came again to bring a friend for a birthday dinner and were not disappointed! It was the best, most tender steak any of had eaten in a long time. Our waitress, Joy, couldn't have been nicer and it was a great experience--all round! We will be back soon!

I had high hopes for this restaurant after reading the reviews and it is no where near how it looks. The place is dingy, dark, and smells like fryer oil. It needs a major cleaning, the staff was really nice. The food was good, the steaks were good quality and tasted great. The rest was lackluster. The salad looked like... More

We wondered up the street at the Stockyards and decided to stop for a bite to eat at Cattleman's. While it is dark in side due to the paneling, don't let that stop you from staying for a bit to eat. Our waiter was very attentive and didn't miss a beat. I had to try a steak, my husband the... More

The food selection was clearly outstanding. The prices were comparative to other high end steak houses. The quality of food was impeccable including the children's options. The atmosphere is what the history of Fort Worth is all about. Can visualize old day cowboys coming in and out. Highly recommend for anyone seeking quality food, great service (Victoria was our waitress),... More

Cattlemen's is an old establishment with high standards. The steaks are fabulous. The meat is tender and flavorful. The salads were generous and delicious. You need to check out the mural paintings in the bar - excellent! The drawback is the atmosphere. There are far too many tables, making it hard to even walk through the restaurant to your table... A visit to the Historic Stockyards in Fort Worth provides many opportunities for dining. While this place has a legacy, the service was very slow, partly due to the size of the patronage, and the steak left much to be desired.
