From it's humble beginnings as a drive through beer barn in the '80s, the Raihead has moved to it's "restaurant location" on Montgomery just a block South of I-30 just west of University Dr. Lunch is a packed house of locals for daily specials. Evenings are filled with hungry crowds. The BBQ is sliced thick, the ribs are tender, chicken,... More

For all the folks who never have had real Texas BBQ, this could be a great spot. For those who have... move on. Not bad, not great, and be warned the sides are bland. But after a couple of beers, the BBQ will hit the spot.

Came in here for a late lunch. For the meats, sides, and a beer, total came out to $9 and I left full. Great place right off 30 to jump in, have a meal, and get back on the road. Or stay awhile...real laid back atmosphere.

Better than most. But not as good as George Strait or Angelo's, the joint it imitates. Yes, you wait n line. Yes, you can get a rib plate and a large dark. Yes, you sit a Formica tables. But, it's not quite the same. Lots of folks don't care. If this was Wine Spectator the score would be 89. The... More

We will try barbecue anywhere. And frequently I have to try the ribs. Railhead has been my gold standard. Tender and with a really great flavor that doesn't need bbq sauce to make them interesting. The turkey, sausage and chopped brisket have always been good. When we make it back to Ft Worth we try and make it to Railhead.

If you are in Ft. Worth and hitting up the Justin Boot Outlet and/or Dickeys Outlet on Vickery, you would do yourself a huge disservice to not take advantage of the biggest plate of BBQ you think you can hold down at the Railhead Smokehouse. While they don't have beef ribs on the menu (my personal favorite), their brisket was... More

Recommended buy several, was overall disappointed. Red hot and blue on Hulen is better. Cant compare to bbq in Kansas City or Memphis.

Old school Fort Worth BBQ. The ribs are the best. Not the best BBQ in the state but it is a Fort Worth staple. Ice cold schooners of beer.

We were looking for great bbq in the DFW area and we found it here. If you're in the area definitely try it out! The only observation we made was the mismatch of the ordering area from the actual dining area. It looked like two different places but no biggie. Great place, great food!
