These aren't the "too big to eat" Texas portions but they are good sized and ample for lunch. I had a three meat combo (not on the menu so ask for it) with Brisket, Sausage, and Turkey. Was a little disappointed with the turkey, it was moist but it had a very sweet taste. However, the brisket and sausage were... More

Went there in the summer - excellent beef, good beer. Really good. Quick service, plenty of parking - if you're in town it's definitely the place to go.

Ordered the brisket and rib combo, and both were moist, tender and flavorful. The frosted beer schooners kept the beer icy cold. As has historically been the case, the fries, cole slaw and potato salad I tried tend to be bland and the ranch beans are out of a can, but focus on the Q and the reasonable price, and... More

First I tried the beef ribs.....OMG....so great. Then I went back for the brisket. This is the best brisket I have ever had. This place is by far the best barbecue.

We stopped after a long day of driving and activities. We had the Thursday night special, the rib sandwich platter. The meat just fell off the bone and the beans were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Excellent. The drinks were huge! The frozen wine Margarita was delicious. We ate inside then went outside to finish our drinks and enjoy the warmer... More

From it's humble beginnings as a drive through beer barn in the '80s, the Raihead has moved to it's "restaurant location" on Montgomery just a block South of I-30 just west of University Dr. Lunch is a packed house of locals for daily specials. Evenings are filled with hungry crowds. The BBQ is sliced thick, the ribs are tender, chicken,... More

For all the folks who never have had real Texas BBQ, this could be a great spot. For those who have... move on. Not bad, not great, and be warned the sides are bland. But after a couple of beers, the BBQ will hit the spot.

Came in here for a late lunch. For the meats, sides, and a beer, total came out to $9 and I left full. Great place right off 30 to jump in, have a meal, and get back on the road. Or stay awhile...real laid back atmosphere.

Better than most. But not as good as George Strait or Angelo's, the joint it imitates. Yes, you wait n line. Yes, you can get a rib plate and a large dark. Yes, you sit a Formica tables. But, it's not quite the same. Lots of folks don't care. If this was Wine Spectator the score would be 89. The... More
