Located on the main Stockyard "strip" this place was easy to duck into for a hot lunch on a cold day. Adjacent to the Stockyards Hotel, the restaurant is nicely decorated with the western theme without appearing dusty and dirty like the old west. The big open dining room is welcoming and offers good views of the street scene through... more

This is a great place for tourists. It's down in the stockyards & you can watch cowboys ride by on horses as you eat. It's an even greater place if you live here because the food is THAT GOOD! The steaks are delicious - no steak sauce needed. The pork & beans are the best I've ever had! The tacos... more

Our experiences of Texan food hadn't been all that great until we came across this place. Every other restaurant we visited seemed to rush the food to you so quick that you had to question whether it was cooked fresh at all. Generally the taste also gave us the same impression. I had a steak here, it was very well... more

I've tried just about everything on the menu and the food is always great! We usually make dinner reservations before a concert at Billy Bob's - next door. I LOVE the margaritas even though I am a Rum and coke kind of girl. The signature rum steak is incredible, love the way they serve baked potatoes with that full service... more

Very nice waitstaff, informative, and attentive. Fantastic Steaks, Ribs, and Chicken Tacos. Flavorful, not just sitting there on your plate waiting for the salt and pepper shaker. Great sides, and willing to mix it up for you. more

I frankly loathe that any establishment displays dead animals on the wall and H3 additionally offers a dead possum hanging upside down over the bar. It's pretty disgusting that restaurants believe they have to display stuffed animals in order to offer an "authentic" Texas or western decor. But . . . if you can get past that, the place is... more

I sat in the Stockyard Hotel watching it snow outside on the cobblestone street. And then I walked past the Saloon and into the H3 wearing my duster, hat, and boots. I'm an antique. Sat down with a lady of the night and ordered up a Mop Steak. Wonderful food, atmosphere out of yesteryear and just let the good feelings... more

We had good steaks - a huge porterhouse for two - the taste of steak good, but not what would make me swoon like some others I've had in other places. Other than the steaks, the sides were just the typical steakhouse regulars such as baked potato (nothing special here). But, we really were not expecting 5+ meals and consequently,... more

I had never been to the H3 Ranch before this past Saturday. We were meeting friends there to have dinner because it was one of their birthdays. All day I looked forward to going because I had heard it was a great place to eat. We arrived at 6:30pm and because we were a large party of 14 we were... more
