I visited Fred's at the advice of a co-worker. I was not disappointed. The 1/2 pound burger featured a hand made patty that was very juicy and grilled to perfection. The burger was stacked high with crispy lettuce, tomatoes and pickles. A fantastic old fashioned burger. It was served along side a generous portion of hand cut fries. My only... More

Was in town for work and wanted a place with a good burger. It did not disappoint. I had a bacon mushroom burger and shiner bock on tap served in a frosted "goblet". The food was hot and fresh, the beer was ice cold. Just about perfect.

We had heard that the burgers here were good, and they were right. Both sons had burgers and really enjoyed them. My Portabella quesadilla was good, too. We sat outside, and even through it was 100 degrees, the fans and air cooler made it very comfortable. Staff was friendly. Parking is not great, but you can park In the 7th... More

Pros: Great burgers, great atmosphere. Cons: During lunch hour, this popular place s packed. Even in early afternoon, it may be hard to find a parking place. Tucked in a residential area near the Cultural District west of downtown, Fred's Texas Cafe is a landmark you meed to see to appreciate. Fred's is famous for the burgers and beer, but... More

Food is great but the outdoor service really needs help. Do not be in a hurry. The value is there and you can get a smaller version of the big burgers, That is more than enough. Cold beer.Fry's are really good. Parking is bad, really bad.

A few friends recommended Fred's to us. I ordered the cheesesteak sandwich (which they just brought back to the menu). The meat was so flavorful and tender- absolutely fantastic sandwich! The portions are fairly large, so sharing is a good option.

Fred's is a Fort Worth icon with great food, atmosphere and staff! I recommend the original location. Parking is not always ideal, but it's worth the search.

The location off Western Center is not good. 2nd visit, both visits had a ridiculous small amount of fries and they were cold on both trips. The original Freds off Currie Street is AWESOME. Will not be back to this location.

The chicken fried steak was huge and I ended up taking half of it home. I ordered a double portion of mashed potatoes that were served with cream gravy. There was not a lot of choice on sides. The corn was average. While the food was good next time time I will order the hamburger which is what they are... More

I dig Fred's! When I have company from out of town, I take them to Fred's for a true taste of Texas food and culture! i have been going to Fred's for as long as I can remember, way before the area was built up and have never been disappointed. One of the only times I like to drink beer... More
