Great food!

I like the atmosphere here. Simple yet nice. The food here is quite tasty too. The patty on their burgers were really juicy and delicious! It was indeed worth it going to this one.

They have burgers, plain or with stuff on 'em, and that's about it. We had the fried pickles, which were excellent; dipping sauce is ranch with a little Siracusa - tasty! The mushroom Swiss burger was delicious; mushrooms are portobellos- yum. I didn't care for the fries (greasy), but others in our group loved them. Full bar on the patio.

Fred's is still one of FW's best burgers. The patio is huge now and they usually have a live band to go with your burger and beer. Great place to hang out and they have a great Sunday brunch as well. The loaded fries are wonderful but a heart attack on a plate :)

Don't come if you are in a hurry, but it is so worth it. Awesome burger. Great tasting beef. Neat, unique choices on burgers. Nice service. Funky bar atmosphere. Fresh cut fries are pretty standard for these boutique burger joints. Overall this place is a finalist in our little "burger wars" as my son and I frequent some of the... More

We love Fred's. The service is always great, Thanks LOGAN! The Fried Pickles are the best I have EVER had! Love the burgers! Love the atmosphere! Love the location. Love this place! Only place in the city for Quail eggs and Mimosas on Sunday mornings!

This is my all time favorite place to eat a burger, my particular favorite is the blue cheese burger. I first saw it on DDD and when I realized it was a local joint, I headed there as fast as I could! The inside is small with just a few tables, but they have a nice patio outside. The inside... More

I visited Fred's at the advice of a co-worker. I was not disappointed. The 1/2 pound burger featured a hand made patty that was very juicy and grilled to perfection. The burger was stacked high with crispy lettuce, tomatoes and pickles. A fantastic old fashioned burger. It was served along side a generous portion of hand cut fries. My only... More

Was in town for work and wanted a place with a good burger. It did not disappoint. I had a bacon mushroom burger and shiner bock on tap served in a frosted "goblet". The food was hot and fresh, the beer was ice cold. Just about perfect.

We had heard that the burgers here were good, and they were right. Both sons had burgers and really enjoyed them. My Portabella quesadilla was good, too. We sat outside, and even through it was 100 degrees, the fans and air cooler made it very comfortable. Staff was friendly. Parking is not great, but you can park In the 7th... More

Pros: Great burgers, great atmosphere. Cons: During lunch hour, this popular place s packed. Even in early afternoon, it may be hard to find a parking place. Tucked in a residential area near the Cultural District west of downtown, Fred's Texas Cafe is a landmark you meed to see to appreciate. Fred's is famous for the burgers and beer, but... More
