Lovely evening

We came across this restaurant just looking for somewhere to eat and had a great time. The food, wine and service were all exceptional and a couple of scruffy foreigners were made to feel very welcome on a busy Saturday night.

I've always enjoyed this restaurant, but we hadn't been in a while, so I decided to make reservations for Valentine's Day. Big mistake. The $75, three-course, prix fixe menu sounded good, and the first course (wild mushroom soup) was excellent, but from there things went south. My wife's "grilled flat iron steak" was tasty but consisted of three small slices.... More

Loved the mix between farm-to-table and Cajun influence. Frankly, didn't have high expectations about his restaurant since I knew nothing of it - but boy was it good. The grilled oysters wer to die for and all the dishes at our table were great. I shared a Branzini and crusted Redfish with a red bean sauce. Both were superb. Atmosphere... More

Our visit to this restaurant could not have been better. When we arrived the complimentary valet was waiting to greet us and whisk our car away . Hostess was courteous and efficiently seated us at our reserved table. Waiter was johnny on the spot offering us iced water or bottled water. He informed us there were no specials for the... More

We went here for new years eve, and they had a fixed menu. I gave the restaurant two stars because it has good ambiance and also our server, Scott, was wonderful and extremely personable. However, from the beginning to the end of this meal, everything tasted like someone in the kitchen was dumping salt on everything. The gumbo was somewhat... More

Being from Chicago, I had no idea what to expect, since a local friend made the reservation. We not only enjoyed the food, our dining experience was a hoot. All four of us had a different starter and entree, covering a good third of the menu. There was not one complaint, nothing but raves. The service was outstanding. The decor... More

The menu changes quarterly according to seasons since the produce is always (reportedly) fresh. The salads were very good and fresh. The restaurant is an old gas station. The wine list is average. The food was above average.

My wife and I ate there for lunch prior to visiting the Kimball Museum. We had read good reviews in the Dallas Morning News Guide. We were very disappointed in the bleak atmosphere, mediocre service, and bland tasting food. Too many other good restaurants, so we will not return. It was not special!

Fort Worth has a lot of great restaurants - and several of them can be found on Magnolia Ave. Ellerbe's is the nicest. In a renovated gas station, Ellerbe Fine Foods is just that - fine. And local! As much as possible, they use local ingredients - both meats and vegetables. The presentation is lovely and the food delicious. The... More

Richard King is a lovely host (adore him!) and the food here is pretty good. The wine list is extensive and the service is always lovely. Having said that, I just keep expecting tastier food from a restaurant that is rated #1 in Fort Worth. It's just not my #1 place to eat. I like this place more for lunch... More
