Awesome BBQ while on vacation. Enjoyed the local flavor. Had the Purple Pig. BBQ sandwich with purple coleslaw. Casual restaurant. Great food. Enjoyed the sides too.

We tried the purple pig while staying at the villages resort. It's about 2 miles or so from the resort. We visited on a very busy day on memorial weekend. Service was a little slow but super friendly. Smoked meats were all very tasty, and they had several sides to choose from. I really enjoyed the skillet potatoes. Their BBQ... More

This was a small BBQ restaurant near our resort. I ordered the single meat brisket dinner. It was WAY more than enough food and I was glad I didn't opt for the 2-meat dinner. The brisket was super lean and juicy. And, the fried okra and cowboy beans were perfect. The only drawback when we were there around noon was... More

Quaint down-home place with "fall off the bone" ribs! Very good potato salad, beans, & slaw, too. Friendly staff & relaxed atmosphere. Will be goin back soon! Can't beat Texas Bar-B-Q!! Yeehaw!

Loved the purple pig sandwich, pulled pork with purple cabbage, Sauce and meat were flavorful. Menu selection included more than just BBQ and prices were reasonable. Service was slow, but the place was busy at the time.

We have been living within 2 miles of the "Pig" for two years now. Had never bothered to stop because of mixed reviews from our neighbors. Sorry now we waited so long. Good food, well priced, good portions, clean and a friendly staff to boot. Give it a try hopefully you will like it as much as we did.

I have stopped at Purple Pig many times over several years and enjoy their barbecue. For me, the atmosphere doesn't lend itself to quiet, relaxed dining so usually get my order "to go." Friendly staff.

Barbecue was very good and reasonably priced. Nice local atmosphere. Also very close to the Villages Resorts.

Cute name, average food at best. Service was good, atmosphere was nice, but it is sacrilegious to mess up peach cobbler in East Texas. Avoid the tamales, they were dry and lacked good flavor. Nothing seemed fresh. Would only return for a beer while staying at The Villages because it is close.

Husband swears that the BBQ pizza made here is the best he has ever eaten. They are very generous with the toppings and load up the pizza. One slice can fill you up. Two slices will stuff you!
