At first glance, the menu here will seem strange to most of us. Every corner of the pig is used in some recipe. Be adventerous and give it a try. There are many opportunities for small-plate sharing and this makes it fun. The atmosphere is festive and the service quite good for a busy place. I would go during off-hours... More

Not good value for my money. Small portions. The food was just ok. The service was just ok. I will not eat here again.

Classic East Texas barbecue joint looks so cute and country. The waitresses are nice and a tent do once you get their attention. The decor was also very cute and country it fit perfectly with the area. It was Saturday night and they had a girl singing country and soul music, she was really good. I always get brisket or... We always seem to by the St. Louis Rib dinner. Great meal. Comes with 2 sides. More ribs than even I can eat. Better value than most other barbeque places.

We chose the Purple Pig because of its rustic East Texas décor. It looked like it could have come right out of the oil boom period. I was not impressed with the food. The meat selections we ordered were served on the cool side of warm, and were pretty dry. The sodas we were served were canned in 2012, and... More

Awesome BBQ while on vacation. Enjoyed the local flavor. Had the Purple Pig. BBQ sandwich with purple coleslaw. Casual restaurant. Great food. Enjoyed the sides too.

We tried the purple pig while staying at the villages resort. It's about 2 miles or so from the resort. We visited on a very busy day on memorial weekend. Service was a little slow but super friendly. Smoked meats were all very tasty, and they had several sides to choose from. I really enjoyed the skillet potatoes. Their BBQ... More

This was a small BBQ restaurant near our resort. I ordered the single meat brisket dinner. It was WAY more than enough food and I was glad I didn't opt for the 2-meat dinner. The brisket was super lean and juicy. And, the fried okra and cowboy beans were perfect. The only drawback when we were there around noon was... More
