Great Pulled Pork

Cute Cafe with good pulled pork. I had the pulled pork sandwich. It was really good. The wait staff was very friendly. I really enjoyed my meal. The only thing that I could complain about was that the meat in the sandwich could have been a little warmer.

I can name several BBQ places that are better than Purple Pig. It seems to have a loyal following but I am not one. Their ribs are tough as leather. Pulled pork is just acceptable. Lots of fried sides, etc. service is average. It appears 'dirty' and "dingy". The only reason I ate and returned was it is close to... More

I never expected such a small place to have awesome food but they sure did. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich on a bun with fried okra as the side item. The pork was so good and did not have any visible fat. The bbq sauce was a little runny but was very tasty. We loved it so much we... More

Went in today for lunch with friends. We wanted to try something different. The atmosphere was somewhat unique as it seemed like a very old building and had quite a few indian decorations adorning the place in addition to the prominent purple pig. Our waitress was very friendly though she was a bit scattered as she passed us by a... More

The ownership of the Pig has changed hands. I dropped in to pick up some tamales to take home. No hay más tamales! I would drive 55 miles to get those. Now the feature is crawfish, which is fine, but I can get those in 2 miles. Sad to se the change.

At first glance, the menu here will seem strange to most of us. Every corner of the pig is used in some recipe. Be adventerous and give it a try. There are many opportunities for small-plate sharing and this makes it fun. The atmosphere is festive and the service quite good for a busy place. I would go during off-hours... More

Classic East Texas barbecue joint looks so cute and country. The waitresses are nice and a tent do once you get their attention. The decor was also very cute and country it fit perfectly with the area. It was Saturday night and they had a girl singing country and soul music, she was really good. I always get brisket or...
