Pretty Good BBQ!

Very generous portions, yummy sauce and lean meats. This location is great for visitors staying in the nearby hotels.

On a recent drive to Dallas from Houston we were hungry and decided to stop and get a candy bar or snack. We pulled into what we thought was a small gas station with a little store. It was actually Cole's Bar-B-Q in Fairfield,Tx. After walking in and smelling the wonderful aromas coming from the small restraunt we decided to... More

We did a BBQ crawl from Chicago to Houston back to Chicago. This was my top pick for pulled pork sandwich!

My favorite thing is the Cole special which is chopped beef and chopped sausage links together on a sandwich. They also have great desserts. I haven't tried anything else there I am stuck on the Cole Special.

We decided to try Cole's on our way back from College Station to Dallas. Unfortunately, it was not a good experience all the way around. The employee taking the order at the BBQ counter had a chip on her shoulder. It was like we were doing HER a favor by ordering. The process of checking out was odd too. So... More

I stopped by this place on my way to Corsicana. It looked like a Shell Gas Station and was just a little place inside. A walk up window to order and they made it on the spot. We had brisket sandwiches. The meat was tender and the sauce was okay. It was not the best but okay for a quick... More

Some of the worst BBQ I've ever eaten. The pulled pork didn't have any smoke flavor at all and the sauce they put on it wasn't good at all. I've always said, I don't do BBQ from a gas station and this just confirmed it. Pass on by if you're looking for good BBQ. This isn't the place.

I'm travel between houston and dallas a lot and so does a friend of mine. so when I told her that I was on my way back to houston she suggested I stop at this little barbeque place in fairfield, so I did. I ordered the 2 meat plate rib and sausage with beans and potato salad. For $11 the... More

This little BBQ place was just across the parking lot from the LaQunita hotel where we stayed, so it was convenient. The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff is friendly. My husband ordered the sliced brisket, potato salad and beans. I had the "Pulled Pork", onion rings and cole slaw. I say "pulled pork" because although that's what I ordered,... More

I love dives. BBQ at a gas station is a good thing. When they charge north of $10 for a sandwich and 2 sides they owe you a little effort. Good smoke on the chopped brisket and sausage sandwich - sauce nothing to write home about. Coleslaw was fresh, but no dressing or flavor. Potato salad was a flavorless mash... More
