I had the Toughest "Blue Rare" Ribeye EVER!!! My wife's fish was fine for her.... Color this poor place just another Wannabe with a 6 page menu of unexciting choices that you can get anywhere.

Whenever we visit Brownwood we always maka a point to eat at Humphrey Petes. We even bought their tie dyed shirts as souvenirs. The food and drinks are good and the staff is always courteous.

The food was good, but we waited 1 1/2 hours to be seated and served. It was a Saturday night, but there really wasn't a big crowd.

Get there early on the weekends to beat the crowds. Our entrée came out so soon after ordering we had not finished the appetizer or salads! The food tasted good as always. Some of it can be a little spicy for kids, so watch out. Hamburger steak, smother chicken, and 1/2 BBQ chicken were tasty. Great casual atmosphere and service!

It may not be the best steak that I have ever eaten in my life, but it was tasty and well done. Not bad, and I will likely return.

My husband is still talking about how delicious the jalapeno pork chops were a day later. The mesquite flavor on them and my ribeye was exceptional. The ribeye was well cooked even for a thin steak. Extra points for the fresh peanuts you can pick up and snack on while having a drink, or waiting for your food.

There's a lot of food choices in Central Texas but one of the most "honest" good food treats is at Humphrey Pete's. Great food choices with a little Texas Zing served by a pleasant, helpful staff, in a terrific, interesting and enjoyable atmosphere. What more could you possibly ask from a business establishment? Get in there and get some great... More

This is a nice place with a huge variety of early Americana artifacts for decor. Four of us went for dinner. Two had the jalapeno pork chops; one had the quail kabobs, and one the blackened chicken salad. All the food was very good. We don't live in Texas and getting a glass of wine was a challenge. Luckily we... More

I was passing through town and saw restaurant. Waitress was talking to other people while giving me my drink// straw, etc. I was trying to ask her for something and she continued to talk to other people but was at my table placing items on my table. I thought the steak was reasonably priced until I received it. It was... More
