The 287 Roadhouse is a sports bar and steakhouse located right on HWY 287. We flew into Dumas on business, but if you're traveling through Dumas this is a good place to stop and eat some good food. I had their signature 287 Roadhouse Burger. The jalepeno bun was lightly toasted. The jalepeno patty was full of wonderful spicy jalepeno... More

We had to try this local roadhouse during our one night stop-over in Dumas, and that included trying the calf fries. Look it up if you don't know what they are. They are breaded and deep fried, and taste a lot like liver. Three each was plenty. The burger was great, and the chicken fried steak overlapped the edges of... More

An unexpected restaurant treat in Northwest Texas offering traditional cuts of beef. There were other choices that included quail and other ranch house favorites. You will not be disappointed.

Ate at 287 again today. 20 minutes to get drinks and appetizers. Only 8 or 10 cars in parking lot. Food is usually good but service is usually lacking. Easier to drive to Amarillo for good food and service. Shame Dumas can't do better! This is our last trip town for dinning. We will travel to Amarillo. We live 15... More

We were traveling & ended up staying in Dumas and after checking reviews on this restaurant we decided to eat there. I am so glad that we did. Even though there was a party of 20 in the dining area we were waited on in a timely manner and checked on several times. The food was incredible! I am not... More

My co-worker and I were waiting for 3 other team members on a tuesday evening. The owner was filling in for a host that didn't make it in. She didn't tell us that until after we had been asking about the menu and asking us what brought us to Dumas. We ordered steak Fillet' and Jamaican Red Snapper with wild... More

Stopped here purely based on reviews. Good chicken fried chicken and grilled chicken. Love that dining room is separated from sports bar, unlike an Applebees. Definatly recommend stopping here. Would come back.

We went for the Chicken Fried Steak - which was a true handmade version and met the CFS test. However, they have a nice salad menu and it was really fresh and large portioned. I would stop here on every visit thru Dumas. Service was quick and fresh hot rolls are provided with the meal. Nice surprise on the road.

On my way from Colorado to Dallas, my buddies and I stopped in Dumas for the night and had dinner at the 287 Roadhouse Restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised. The steaks and sides were tasty; the service quick and friendly and the beer was cold. The filet had a wee bit too much grisle but the filet was very nice.... More
