Smoke meats & treats

When you see the smoke rising as you enter the property, you know you're at the right place in Driftwood. Our group found the ribs to be the best around. The child/senior combo plate is plenty of smoky meat, coleslaw, ranch beans & potato salad. Many folks left with boxes as portions are big... read more

I learned two of what I considered the most important secrets soon after arrival: the vineyard takes credit cards and they have a rose wine that is not on the menu! OMG that pink wine made this meal for me. It was dry but robust and flavorful. Too bad I can’t say the same things about the BBQ Without that... More

If you want terrific BBQ, this is the place! It is super crowded (duh-it's great) on the weekends but I think it is most certainly worth the wait!

We had to wait over an hour for our table, but the weather was lovely with a breeze and shady trees, so it was a pleasant wait. When we got to our table, the server was friendly and helpful, and our food was served very quickly. I had the brisket, and it was wonderful. I'd definitely go again.

I enjoy food. I eat a wide variety of things, This has got to be the best brisket I have ever had. The staff was very friendly. And I have to say that their take on potato salad has me rethinking how I make mine.

this is a bit out of the way but some really good bbq. It is popular , we even had to line up for 'take out' for 30 minutes. But they has lots of picnic tables that you can sit at. And you can still buy some really ice cold beer. Prices were very reasonable, we ate too much. One... More

Going to the Salt Lick should be on every body's bucket list. The best BBQ on planet. Go there! The portions are generous, you may need a doggie bag. Friendly folks, great service, good food, and rustic Texas surroundings make the Salt Lick a must to visit. GO..TO..THE..SALT..LICK..IN..DRIFTWOOD..TEXAS..NOW!

Texas is so blessed with SO many great BBQ places! The Salt Lick stood out to me because of their very high quality meats, sides and desserts. We had: brisket, ribs, sausage, turkey, potato salad, beans, cole slaw, soft bread, pickles and onions. ALL of it was seasoned to perfection, cooked just right. It is not super cheap, but you... This place was fantastic! We were visiting for a friends 60th and the food was phenomenal. They don't serve adult beverages so you need to BYO - but why bother wasting space. They have an all-you-can-eat platter that has brisket, ribs, sausage and pork - which doesn't stop coming until you say "uncle". Even then you can ask for a... More

The BBQ was above average but the whole experience is why I gave it four stars. We were there a bit before 4:00 p.m. because we wanted to get there early. Forget it...it is so popular there was already a long line which took 1 1/2 hours for the two of us to get seated. It is a BYO but... More
