The ribs are amazing, but maybe even matched by the homemade pecan pie. Who ate... More

My boyfriend & I wanted to try the famous Salt Lick. We arrived with no wait. We ordered the family platter which gets you everything. It was so good! I cannot complain about anything. We did say if we had to choose a favorite, it would be the brisket, coleslaw, & pickles!also, the actual restaurant is beautiful. It's a nice... More

When my long time love and I, along with our two kids, visited this time last year we fell in love with the Cellars. It was so romantic lit up at night and the food was so amazing that we decided to get married there! So we did! We tied the knot on the porch in the Cellars! (7/25/15) Of... More

This week we gathered old friends for a dinner gathering at Salt Lick in Driftwood, TX, near Austin. There were good menu choices and you can get family-style to enjoy all You can eat of all meats, except chicken. They do offer chicken plates too. Meats and side items were delicious and there's something special about this original location. It's... More

I was with a self proclaimed BBQ professional and he recommended Salt Lick so we made the drive. This was right before the 4th of July. The drive took us about 30 minutes from the downtown Capitol area. It was a nice break to get out into the hills. As we made the drive, we saw a fireworks stand on... More

We ate a late lunch here on a July weekday and thoroughly enjoyed it. No wait, fast service, fun setting, delicious barbecue. It was interesting to watch the meat cooking in the pit as you walk in. The grounds are beautiful, and oh the food. Best ribs I ever had, and the brisket was divine. The bread was really good... More

We've been to Salt Lick many times before, and it was as good as usual. I always forget that they only accept cash, but the food tasted wonderful like it usually does. We went to the Salt Lick Cellars afterwards and found a "Ranch Road Red" that was a slightly sweet red wine.

Stopped in while visiting Austin TX. The BBQ was excellent and the helpings ample for the price. I didn't have anything that I didn't enjoy. If you want tasty brisket, burnt-ends and ribs this is the place to go. A warning - bring your appetite!!! : )
