This was the first time I've eaten here even though I've been to the area a few times. This food was off the chain!!! Prices are reasonable. BYOB is a plus and the winery next door is fantastic! I'll be back again!!!

First trip to Austin and the addictively, famous Salt Lick BBQ. Many quirks in service and food, yet, worth the 30 minute drive out to the middle of nowhere. Be prepared for a HUGE gravel parking lot, that looks like a fair ground. Rows of grapevines from their vineyard line the perimeter. At 7:00 pm, Sunday night, the place was... More

Anyone that even gets remotely close to Austin and don't try this restaurant, you are missing out. Live music, in dirt and outdoor seating, and absolutely the best good and dessert you've probably had all week.

This was our third visit to Salk Lick and it is always good. If you have never been, it is a must try. The smoky flavor that comes out of the meat is amazing. huge portions and if you order the right item, the food never ends.... until you just cant handle anymore.

Salt Lick may be the first or second best BBQ anywhere. Their brisket is my favorite, but I have a hard time passing up their beef ribs, pork ribs or sausage. You have to pass the pit as you come in, which really gets the mouth watering.

This was the first time here. Had many friends tell us about it & said we had to stop there. Boy are we glad we did. The food was so dang good! We both had the triple chop sandwich, which had chopped sausage, brisket & ribs. It came with cole slaw, beans & potato salad. I am not a big... More

I've eaten here off and on when in Texas since 2000. The property keeps getting more and more beautiful... the food has stayed amazing. Clearly it's Texas barbecue, so it has smoke and spice. It's basically some kind of perfect storm of the quality, fresh meats + the smoke pit + the sauces. It might involve witchcraft or a selling... More

Been wanting to eat here for years, finally hit this place with a hungry appetite! We brought our brews and went for the 'all you can eat'. Why not it's just a few dollars more and I didn't want to leave unfull. You get what you wish for, Fantastic tasting brisket, delicious sausage, and juicy chicken with "may I have... More

LOVED IT! Great service. We got seated quickly; typically the wait is longer. So Plan to bring your own beer/beverage. They do not serve alcohol there.

We don't make it up there to eat as often as we would like (we live in San Antonio), but we are obsessed with this place. Their lean brisket and smoked turkey smothered in their own BBQ sauce.. doesn't get any better. The only side I have to absolutely have when I go there is their coleslaw... and I seriously... More
