Worth a visit!

Like most places in Texas, Alligator Cafe is located in a strip mall. It's an eclectic, friendly place. We visited on a Saturday night and it was quite busy, but service was fast and friendly. It's a very casual place and a bit small and crowded, so keep in mind that aspect of a "cafe" is... read more

My wife and I drive 90 miles to eat at the Alligator Cafe . We love this place. We have eaten there many times and will continue to eat there. The Cajun veggies are great so is the brows salmon. My favorite is the boudin balls , they are awesome. The service is good.

My friends introduced me to this place for the Cajun food and that is good: gumbo, crab cakes & muffalata. But the bread pudding is worth the trip to Dallas! Huge piece, soft bread, perfect amount of cinnamon and raisins (meaning not too much!). Buttery whisky sauce! Ask for more sauce because the piece of pudding is so big. I... More

Well let me tell you, I have never had something this delightfully disgusting in a long time. Sometimes one needs to go through a complete torture of the palette to truly appreciate good flavors. Unfortunately I traveled out of my normal work lunch area to try this place, and boy did I regret it. Being an absolute zealot of seafood... More

The Shrimp Etouffee was out of this world! And, my partner enjoyed the Alligator, for sure! And expecially, we loved the couple playing good blues on guitar and harmonica!! What a great place...easy parking in Casa LInda, and very nice folks working the bar. Laissez les bons temps rouler!

We had a chance to go with some friends who had lived in Louisiana to Alligator Cafe just before visiting 12 Days of Christmas at the Arboretum. We all had something different off the menu and it was all great and authentic tasting for Cajun cuisine. The bread pudding was really good too.

The alligator cafe was a relaxed fun restaurant with decent service and good food. The shrimp and grits was delicious and spicy. The large selection of beer was a fun surprise. We will go back.

Just found this place and what a find! Best Cajun food I've had in Texas!! Started with corn fritters, crisp on the outside, wonderfully moist and flavorful inside. I had the shrimp and grits - SO much flavor! Finished with the bred pudding! Heaven! Great patio atmosphere - great service.

We came in for dinner on a Friday night and had a great experience. The atmosphere is very casual but attractive, The crowd was friendly and there was live music. They have Abita on tap, we had a seasonal brew and it was great. We ordered frog legs, alligator, po boys, bread pudding - it was all very good, and... More

We've been here several times, most recently for dinner in September 2014. In the past the food has been above average but I wonder if it is going down. We started with frog legs as an appetizer and they were quite large. They are deep fried and a bit greasy, but basically pretty good. The wife got the Sea Bass... More
