Best Mexican in the USA!

This incredibly festive restaurant/bar is like taking over your very rich and fun uncle's hacienda for the night. Even though I lived in Dallas for many years, this was my first time to visit Javier's. It was extremely crowded, and it was more casual than I expected. The dips and chips they serve are good, but not like anything I've had at other Mexican restaurants. The dips are very thin, and they are served with butter. My friend... More

This is an old reliable in Dallas. The menu is a constant. We went a little appetizer crazy with Cheese Panela, Beef Nachos and Garlic Shrimp Guaymas. Any two apps are ample for 4. All well prepared and presented. Each of us had filetes that are always generous plates and hard to finish. Javier's is a nice all-around experience. They... More

The staff is very attentive (and plentiful), the food is flavorful and well prepared, and the people watching is excellent! The owner, Javier, is there nearly every single night greeting his guests and offering a level of attention not often found in restaurants today. I highly recommend a visit if you are traveling to Dallas or a return if you... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by locals and I had a very good meal there. Food is great, service very good and atmosphere is very nice. The portions are big and if you select an appetizer I would recommend that it be shared.

If I was just reviewing the food itself, Javier's gets 2.5 stars at best. The sauces are bland (and they put the bland sauce on everything, makes you wonder what they are hiding). The salsa is milder than pace picante mild. The quality of the meat and seafood is average. The food is served too fast--you know it's from some... More

Touted as authentic Mexican food, no way. Where did they get the idea that Mexican food is sweet!? The red and green complimentary salsas with chips were bland without heat or cilantro, no discernable onion or garlic. Just sweet.... A sample of the mole sauce was wisely requested prior to ordering an entree. Very sweet and not enough mole taste.... More

I'm a big fan of Mexican food. This place is gourmet Mexican just as the name suggests. Nice cozy place with a small bar & a medium size dinning room. Very good food & good service. There's a cigar room next door under the same management with a small little patio outside. Strongly recommend. Slightly expensive but you get what... More

Excellent food, drinks, service. Their patio is beautiful to sit on when weather is nice. This is one of Dallas' most loved restaurants.

Nice atmosphere for that special someone. I got the Filete Cantinflas, one of their signature dishes. The meat was not very tender and not the most flavorful steak I've ever had. My wife had the Mayan Style Pork, it was better, really a nice meal. The food was not bad, at the prices charged, we just want to be wowed... More
