It's Happening at Javier's!

We were at the start of a road trip across the South West US, and, as we were starting out in Dallas, a friend recommended Javier's. She told me that the food was good, it was a great place to go, and that in her opinion, no one has ever left there sober. We had a great evening there, and... read more

Everyone in Dallas LOVES this place and while the food is good it's just a little overrated. I love the lounge area with the big chairs but the place gets incredibly crowded and if you don't like cigar smoke or smelling like it, this isn't the place for you. There's a dish that everyone raves about (can't remember the name... More

Upscale. Variety of choices with a plethora of seafood served many ways in addition to the traditional meat dishes. Menu also includes veal and quail. The warm salsas are very flavorful.

Nice atmosphere. Good food. Authentic. Variety on menu. Great service. Little overpriced. We will try again. Thanks!

Definitely tablecloth fine dining quality (valet parking absolutely unnecessary). The main dining room is NOISY and full of echoes so we opted to dine outside at the patio. They do have a cigar/smoking section too. As for the food, I'll never understand butter with nacho chips. The flavor of the foods are well balanced, although nothing bright but a soothing... More

This incredibly festive restaurant/bar is like taking over your very rich and fun uncle's hacienda for the night. Filled with the most interesting and beautiful antiques and beautiful decor....the atmosphere is completely festive!! You'll feel as though you've entered another world....truly. The margaritas are top shell and delicious! The wait staff is highly professional and fun! The food...I almost don't... More

Even though I lived in Dallas for many years, this was my first time to visit Javier's. It was extremely crowded, and it was more casual than I expected. The dips and chips they serve are good, but not like anything I've had at other Mexican restaurants. The dips are very thin, and they are served with butter. My friend... More

This is an old reliable in Dallas. The menu is a constant. We went a little appetizer crazy with Cheese Panela, Beef Nachos and Garlic Shrimp Guaymas. Any two apps are ample for 4. All well prepared and presented. Each of us had filetes that are always generous plates and hard to finish. Javier's is a nice all-around experience. They... More

The staff is very attentive (and plentiful), the food is flavorful and well prepared, and the people watching is excellent! The owner, Javier, is there nearly every single night greeting his guests and offering a level of attention not often found in restaurants today. I highly recommend a visit if you are traveling to Dallas or a return if you... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by locals and I had a very good meal there. Food is great, service very good and atmosphere is very nice. The portions are big and if you select an appetizer I would recommend that it be shared.
