Good menu choices for a group

We had a 6 person business dinner and even though the restaurant was crowded, at the side table we were at it was not too noisy. I remember going to Al's decades ago, and honestly, it seems like the times may have passed this once excellent restaurant by. Although the food overall, was pretty good, the main reason I would ever go here is for the steaks. And their steaks just aren't up to the competition, IMO. First, they are overpriced. Second, their meats can be... More

I've tried quite a few "Steakhouses" in the DFW area...and this place knocks them ALL out of the running. I won't mention any by name, but the restaurants usually have the same food and seved the same way. I ordered Escargot here that came with tortellini and a tomato brandy sauce that had me in heaven!! Exquisite flavor and gave... More

Great place for a special occasion. The food is also spot on. I also have wonderful steaks and always leave room for coconut pie..it is some of the best in the city.

We have frequented Al Biernat's over the years and the service and food never disappoint. Great dinner items, including the steak tartare, and a great brunch have led us to return time and time again. The moody, rich interior beckons the patron to relax and enjoy a leisurely evening. Also, fine wine prices extremely competitive (on one occasion, we were... More

My family of four had brunch here, and each of us was awed by the great food. Also, the staff was very attentive, friendly and professional.

The service was excellent but the meal was highly problematic. The tuna tartare called a poke here was excellent. Not too much sesame oil, not too much soy it was beautifully balanced. Steaks were so overcooked we couldn't eat them. No dessert...we just wanted to leave. $400 for 2 people, just 1 bottle of mid-range wine under $100. Salad unremarkable.... More

One of the best places to eat in Dallas, food is always excellent and the service is superb. I have usually had the filet, and my wife has had the filet and the salmon, both great choices. The restaurant can be a little noisy, we actually prefer to sit in the smaller narrow dining area along the street window, is... More

The family met up at Al Biernat's for brunch. While this spot is better known for its dinner, specifically steaks, it did not disappoint. We had a sampling of crab cakes benedict, lobster scramble, and pancakes. Great consistent food with amazing service too. The place can get loud at times, though we did not experience anything out of the ordinary... More

Very pricey place, but worth it for special occasions. ALSO it is one of the few places that serve liver, and it is the best I have ever had!
