I ordered the buttermilk fried chicken (skip the bun). It was so good I ordered a second go around. Great date place for lunch or dinner.

Start with a Bloody Mary that is garnished with maple bacon and pickled okra but don't forget to follow that with a Texas Cosmo. Enjoyed the "Biggie": jalepaño cheddar biscuit topped with fried chicken, bacon, cheese, the a sausage gravy. This place should not be skipped on your next visit to Dallas

In a city that has tons of good food and good service, Hattie's is a standout. A number of restaurants advertise themselves as 'Fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere' only to find out that they aren't relaxed but pretentious or the food isn't so fine after all, but Hattie's truly can qualify as a fine dining experience in a relaxed... this is southern home cooking, done right. I'm not keen on a lot of this, but what I ate, meat loaf was excellent. Shrimp and grits were at the table to the delight of the diners. Wait staff was more than attentive and couldn't have been more friendly, and patient with going thru the menu with us. But the real... More

This place is amazing. Their mac and cheese is the best ever. I also had shrimp with my Mac and cheese which was amazing. I wanted more. The restaurant is a bit loud though.

Food was fantastic- I especially enjoyed the steak. By far some of the best food in the area. Situated in a cute, trendy neighborhood with lots of shops and restaurants. The only compliant I could possibly have is that it is very noisy. It was difficult to talk to the people at my table at times.

Cute neighborhood, great cuisine, charming and romantic atmosphere. I go back every time I visit Dallas (which I try to avoid).

Our group of eight enjoyed a wonderful Southern Low Country dinner experience at Hattie's during the Red River Rivalry weekend. Although Hattie's was buzzing, we felt no rush. I had a difficult time deciding what to get because I was tempted to order half the appetizers and half the entrees on the menu. It all sounded so good. I finally... More

I met some friends at Hattie's because my brother read something about their outstanding mac & cheese and I read something about there outstanding fried green tomatoes and pecan crusted catfish. Fortunately, these are some of the cheaper things on the menu. The fried green tomatoes were excellent (the bread that comes before the meal is quite good as well).... More

This place could be great ... once you ignore the oddly out of place Japanese tapestry ... the dining room is pretty, bright and gives you the Southern low country vibe. The food is complex, both familiar and unique (if you know southern cooking) and mostly delicious with an appropriately paired wine list, including dessert wines by the glass which... More
