Inside, the restaurant sets the Tex Mex scene well, full of colour and atmosphere with murals on the walls. The service was prompt and friendly, and the range of Tex Mex options was great. The food itself arrived swiftly, and was generous in size and very tasty. The food hits the right spot, more comfort food than anything with a... More

Ate here after reading it is one of the oldest and best places to eat in downtown We walked here after visiting the Perot Museum (which I also recommend doing). The service was great, the chips, salsa and drinks were always refilled. The food was great and plentiful for lunch. 4 kids and 2 adults had lunch and tea/sodas for... More

Well I can't say the food was terrible but we are Mexican Americans and we were NOT impressed. We saw reviews about 3 year in row winning margaritas in Dallas...oh my goodness, they were very sad. First off we received them in wine glasses...WHAT!!!! They tasted like Country Time lemonade with a tiny bit of tequila. So, don't waste your... More

Not much to say as we where only here to kill sometime while waiting on a show at the museum. We stopped in to try out what was advertised as the best Margaritas in Dallas, and we were not disappointed. I had a frozen one while my boyfriend had one on the rocks. We both loved them, they had the... More

went there during the tail end of lunch with my family. while the food was great, chips were hot, salsa was good..the service could have been better. have been there before for lunch with co-workers, and always had good service. I would chalk it up to an off day, and not discourage anyone from going there.

The food was ok--not served hot, but served quickly. The server was excellent--he knew what he was doing. The location was great--easy to get to from the Perot museum. The guacamole was the best part of the meal, but all was typical Tex-Mex and not especially note worthy. We were there on a Sunday at 2. It was busy and... More

I'm never disappointed in the delicious beef enchiladas at El Fenix. The chips and salsa are crispy and savory. Its a great place for delicious Mexican food. The service was quick and helpful.

Best chips we've ever had! Good $4.99 margarita. Plenty of parking across the street which is a bonus in the downtown area!! Other food we had was good but the chips were the standout!

Been dining here weekly for my Tex-Mex fix for many, many years now. I love the housemade chips and salsa. The guacamole is good too. Enchiladas, refried beans, and Spanish rice just as I remember them from years ago. I take off one star because of the house margarita. It is weak on the Tequila and much too heavy on... More
