Really nice Mexican food on an extensive menu. The enchiladas were great. Big sized serves. Cheap and good margaritas were just the ticket on a hot Dallas day.

The food is pretty much your typical tex-mex, but it is worth going just for the chips and salsa! The guacamole is pretty good too! The chips are light and the salsa is just the right temp. Fajitas are good, but rest of the food is your typical tex-mex foods.

I drove through Dallas last week with my wife. We stopped at this plate for a late lunch. I had the 2 taco plate for 8.99. Each taco had one teaspoon of meat. And each had only 6-7 strands of cheese. Add to that, the salsa was bland: just tomatoes and onions in a blender. The only thing that prevented... More

We decided to try El Fenix against the recommendation of friends. The chips and salsa I liked. The frozen strawberry margarita I loved. The food was ok, but not the best I've ever had. Might just need to visit for the drinks.

It's been almost 25 years since I visited Dallas and ate at an El Fenix Restaurant. It hasn't changed a bit. It still serves excellent Tex/Mex food, in a pleasant surrounding with good service. The Magaretas and the food are excellent values. You cant go wrong eating at an El Fenix restaurant. I wish there was one in Philadelphia.

When we have friends from out of town in, we always take them to El Fenix if we are in the downtown area. It is an institution and the granddaddy of all TexMex. The building itself is great eye candy with the walls decorated in a pueblo style with rooms off to the side separated from the main area by... More

We had a date at El Fenix for lunch and it changed our lives. We have now been married 21 years. Theis is unarguably the best restaurant for Mexican cuisine in the City of Dallas. It is a long time family owned establishment and the food is heavenly! Drop by and eat after enjoying some of Dallas' entertainment like the... More

It is my understanding this is the original El Fenix location and is a downtown Dallas "must-do" eatery. The atmosphere is great. I did see other El Fenix restaurants at other DFW areas. I really did not know what to expect. This place knocked my socks off, serving authentic Tex-Mex cuisine. The cheese enchiladas are absolutely wonderful. I'm not a... More
