Bouquet of flavors

There are so many restaurants to choose from these days, especially in the downtown area. They are all clamoring for your business and references. The El Fenix sign is always a welcome invitation of great flavor and the location downtown is one of our favorite Tex Mex stops. The enchiladas, chips... read more

This was our first trip to the Original El Fenix Restaurant and it was awesome. The chips alone were amazing, I think my husband and I had like three bowls. They were fresh and had just the right amount of salt on them. Then we got are fajitas and almost could not eat them, because we filled up on the... More

This is the original location, restaurant is really clean and nice. I probably had a few to many margaritas, but they were worth it, the best I've had. The guac and chips was awesome!! I had the street tacos and totally get that again. Great spot to hang with friends and family!!

We were told by the trolley driver that this was an original place and famous. I found the food to just be okay and the service was fine but not friendly. We had no wait at lunchtime so that was a plus as we were coming from across the street at the Perot Museum.

From the entree to the desert, everything was excellent. I did not care much for the coffee but the quality of the food made up for it. You will not be disappointed with the menu.

Classic Tex-mex. Enjoy the enchilada special on Wednesday night and relive your childhood! I'm also a fan of their crepes and tortilla soup. Nothing surprising, just simple, comforting Tex-Mex

If you love great Mexican food, do yourself a favor and visit this place. We heard that the food here was good, but that didn't even come close. We were referred here by our tour guide on the JFK tour who told us that this was the first restaurant of it's type in the U.S. Established in 1918, it's easy... More

This was a fun restaurant and so acomodating. They called our cab for us to head back to the hotel and accommodated a large group of us very easily. The food was very good.

Don't let the long line out the door scare you they move pretty fast. Good food. Loved the tortilla soup.

Luis and the staff were great and made the whole banquet go off without a hitch. Great Mexican food in a buffet style in a roof top room with an open air terrace made it exceptional. The most stress free arrangements you could hope for.
