Valentines Weekend

We go here whenever in the mood for French food. Limited, but lovely wine list. Lots of champagnes--- don't know if this was for the holiday weekend or not, but it was very pleasant to start with a glass. Three course luncheon featured a very tasty split pea soup. Roasted chicken moist and just the... read more

Once again this restaurant did not disappoint us. We go here every time we're in Dallas. This is not a large place so reservations are recommended. Rack of lamb - yum yum

I have been at Lavendou 3 times over the past 2 months with my family and a date. I love the atmosphere, the menu and the reasonably priced wines. The service is also great. If you like French style cooking, beautifully presented, with glorious sauces in a larger than French portion, this is the place to go. I will leave... More

For those that crave a fine meal styled around traditional French recipes, Lavendou is a must. After multiple visits, I must say that the food is consistently marvelous! At our last visit, the soup of the day was Brie mushroom cream soup - which was some of the best soup I have ever tasted. The escargot is served in a... More

It's been a long time since a restaurant impressed me, but Lavendou certainly did. The restaurant really gave me an opportunity to experience a real French dinner; it has a warm, French-country atmosphere, and the service was excellent. The food was prepared with great quality: amazing bread served with amazing olive oil dip, classic French onion soup, a satisfying charcuterie... More

This is a true French bistro dining experience. There was a large party here tonight but all our food came out perfect. Escargots in a sumptuous garlic butter to be soaked up with a crusty baguette. Duck that had a crispy skin but moist meat. I wonder how they get it so perfect. Filet with a light brown sauce, perfectly... More

Great restaurant for special occasions. The food, service and atmosphere are all excellent. I only wish the place was larger. They are always crowded because of their fine fare and the tables are situated in close proximity of each other so you feel a bit crowded .... maybe it's the European/French atmosphere. This is my only complaint. My wife and... More

A charming place! My husband and I dined here on a Wednesday evening. My grouper and his steak were excellent, as was the mushroom tart we shared as an appetizer. The wine list was (relatively) short, but very well-chosen with plenty of reasonably priced by-the-glass options. The service was prompt and polite. Charming atmosphere.

Within the last 6 months my husband & I have traveled to the island of Guadeloupe & also the Montreal area in Canada. During these trips we have had the pleasure of eating some incredible French cuisine. Lavendou's does not disappoint. Service was excellent, our escargot, sautéed frog legs, rack of lamb & ratatouille was superb. The wine list was... More
