I would look at the menu while eating my bean soup, crunching on some chips dotted with a little butter and dipped in perfect hot sauce and say 2B or not 2B. That is the question. :) If I was really hungry it would be Jimmy's Special. Oh and that National Geographic magazine cover they had on their menu. The... More

Food was great, waitresses doing a fine job, no long wait, affordable, and no hassles. What else could you ask for?

Ate here a dozen years ago and still dream of the day to return for their bean soup! It was just a little hole in the wall tex mex joint but I long to return!

I have been going to Herrera's for 30+ years. My last meal on earth would have to be Herrera's bean soup, chips and salsa, and a 2B. Heavenly.

Written up in National Geographic for the GOOD food. One of the best Tex-Mex restaurants anywhere. A gold standard for that we compare all similar others to and the others always disappoint. Bean soup is always good and the plain old cheese enchilians are a true standby. It does not get any better than this.

I have been going to Herrera's ever since I got out of college and it was a little pink-concrete-brick shack with no bar. It has moved twice since then and now has a nice, attractive, much larger restaurant with a bar. The tables all have glass tops with photos of the many longtime customers eating at the second location before... More

I love Herrera's! If you want reliable tasty Tex-Mex you can not go wrong at Herrera's! I have been a customer for over 30 years; don't get to visit as often as I'd like as I live in Irving and it's not always convenient but, when in the neighborhood I always stop in for a meal and love to take... The chicken sour cream enchiladas were amazing and coupled with my favorite Negro Modelo beer and guacamole, it was a truly memorable meal. The staff was attentive and very friendly. Wish I lived in the same state to visit this fabulous restaurant again soon.

I went to the location in Mockingbird Station. The TexMex is as to be expected. The biggest surprise was the fried quesadilla that was recommended by the server. If you like cheese and fried, yum yum. The service was excellent, very prompt without being overwhelming. Will definitely go again.

I could eat the hot sauce and chips and be satisfied. The queso is ok but not my favorite. Entrees are served hot and it's all home made, so I make it a point to eat here every time I visit Dallas!
