They have a good menu, wonderful servers and fresh ingredients. I had the taquitos don tavo and they were wonderful. I loved their guacamole as well. Their salsa was a little spicy for my taste but others in our party enjoyed it. My husband had the flautas and they had good quality meat and weren't greasy. I'll definitely go back!

This is the first time that Trip Advisor has let me down. We went there because of the great reviews. My whole group was disappointed. The margaritas were good but the salsa was so hot no one could eat it. The queso was like a chicken and cheese broth. The brisket tacos were ok. Our waiter had zero personality. I... More

Our dinner at Avila's was a revelation. I can say with confidence that This was the best Mexican food I have eaten. The enchiladas were perfectly prepared, the rice and refried beans likewise. The tortilla chips and salsa were equally as good. The margaritas were also perfectly executed. Dinner for 3 was around $70. Fabulous.

Since a friend introduced me to Avila's in 2006, this remains my first stop on every trip to Dallas. Management and the service team remain the same and outstanding. The Avila Especial enchilada plate with truly spicy fresh salsa and a cold Pacifico cannot be outclassed. The tortillas are hand made fresh daily - few TexMex places do this. What... More

I take business colleagues and friends when I am in the area. The food is flavorful and consistent and I really like the red carne sauce on any enchilada. The quest was also stellar with some amazingly spicy salsa with fesh and crisp chip an essential part of any tex-mex meal. I have had the fajitas and the enchiladas for... More

Not only is this the best Mexican I've had, it's probably the best meal. We were helped in the ordering by the American lady that works there. First the salsa they give with the nachos is hot, but very tasty. Don't get full up on that, it's very easy to do. We got the pork tamales and ground beef chimichanga,... More

Read about this little dive on trip advisor....glad we took a chance! Delicious brisket tacos, fast and friendly service. The salsa is fresh but SPICY. Try the mango margs - they are great! Very affordable and true tex-mex.

We hunted down Avila's because of Diner's Drive-in's and Dives. I ordered the triple D meal because it was created after Guy's visit. It came with Pozole, 1 pork tamale, and 1 brisket taco. I have read several reviews on here about how good that brisket soft taco is but am really surprised. It had zero seasoning. I wouldn't have... More
