Read about this little dive on trip advisor....glad we took a chance! Delicious brisket tacos, fast and friendly service. The salsa is fresh but SPICY. Try the mango margs - they are great! Very affordable and true tex-mex.

We hunted down Avila's because of Diner's Drive-in's and Dives. I ordered the triple D meal because it was created after Guy's visit. It came with Pozole, 1 pork tamale, and 1 brisket taco. I have read several reviews on here about how good that brisket soft taco is but am really surprised. It had zero seasoning. I wouldn't have... More

We have a favorite, comfy, homey, little, family-operated Mexican restaurant near home. Avilia's could take its place and we'd have no complaints. I had the posole (nice little spicy zing) and a pork tamale. My wife fell in love with the brisket tacos (super moist and tasty). In this case, the "Very Good" rating is mine. My wife would have... Homemade delicious Mexican food, served in a friendly atmosphere. Sure it was a bit small, but that added to the "homey" feeling of this place. Highly recommend!

We visited Avila's because it was one of the places near our hotel that was included on the "TV Food Maps" app. I don't recall seeing the DDD episode with this place, but am glad we went. The food was fantastic as was the mango margarita. I had a vegetarian black bean enchillada dinner while my husband tried the brisket... More

Wow. This place was great. About as tasty Tex-Mex as I've ever had. Portions were great. Presentation was spot on. The brisket Chile Relleno with Ranchero sauce was phenomenal!!! Will strongly recommend.

We have been to Avila's several times a have never been disappointed! Those in our group ordered several things......Avila's Combo, Chicken enchiladas, tacos......all were great! The salsa is as referenced in many posts.....a little kick but simply outstanding. On this visit we finally tried the bread pudding and I am guessing we will never leave Avila's again without ordering the... More

you would think I would comment on the tex mex but It was the bread pudding that blew me away. We were in from out of town and was told it was THE place to go for TEXAS tex mex. I thought the food was fine but nothing mind blowing. A big party came in and the owner needed out... More

Found this place on Food Network's website. Diners, drive-ins, and dives said this was one of the best places to go with tons of flavor. Well, I didn't find any flavor. To start, the chips and salsa were pretty decent. My wife ordered enchiladas, one with red chili and the other with queso. The Red chile sauce was pretty good... More
