Good food and service, served fast

We went to Avila's during a trip to Dallas. It was good food, although not the best enchiladas I have ever had. The service was good (I had asked for a brisket enchilada and they accidentally gave me a chicken enchilada, which they had fixed in just minutes). The food was served up very quickly... read more

We went for the food: three adults and two high school students. Everyone was happy with the food and service. ALL the dishes were great. Nice variety. Small place. Clean. Nice wait staff! Would definitely go again for a quick meal.

I guess I over expected after reading the glowing reports on TA. We were a party of eight and the general consensus was that it was disappointing. The food was bland, served luke warm. Service was excellent. Very difficult to carry on a conversation due to the poor acoustics (an old house). A bit pricey forbear you get. DDD, you... More

Decided to go here after hearing this was a must for Mexican food. We ordered queso to start and was never served it nor was the side order taco. The salsa was very hot, which I liked, but not for everyone. Had to ask for refills on our drinks. It seemed like we were bothering them to even be there.

I just finished dinner - beef fajita enchiladas (2) with queso, Spanish rice, refried beans, pico de gallo. Chips are okay but not great, salsa is of the smooth, blended (not chunky) style - and pretty hot and very good. Plate presentation was really good - striped layout. Beans were tasty not pasty, rice was pretty good, queso and flour... More

Avila's is our favorite Mexican Restaurant in Dallas. Their hot sauce is fantastic and very spicy. Favorite is Black Bean Enchiladas.

This restaurant took me by surprise. I was in Dallas on business I googled "Mexican Restaurants" and chose the closest one near me. From the outside I thought am I in the right place? it didn't look like much so I figured I'd give the place a chance. Boy was I surprised their food was fresh and tastefully delicious... love... I came here because of triple D and because its fairly close to the airport. I was seated quickly, and after i ordered, was served quickly. The food was good but not amazing (sorry, i dont remember what i ordered). The chips were good though and the salsa quite spicy. If you are from out of town please know this... More

Heard about this spot on Diner's Drive-In's and Dives, but was unimpressed. Not bad, just not great. Good for a quick lunch if you're in the area, but don't expect anything more than standard tex-mex.

The bread pudding was the best I have ever had. It's enough for two people. I had the triple d plate and would get that again. The waitress was very helpful with the menu and the service was great. I'll go back for sure next time in the the Dallas market.
