because you ARE in a 50s place! It's like time stood still at the Dairy-ette! If you want so old-fashion burgers, great root beer in a frost mug and so great service, head over there right now! The root beer floats are great too!

As a local, I can tell you that this place is worth a visit. The hamburgers are great, the fries are just ok, but what really makes my mouth water are the root beer floats. Homemade vanilla soft serve and homemade root beer team up to make a creamy, easy drinking, and delicious float. Floats are served in frozen glass... More

This is a fun place an old 50 's drive in, with both car side service and tables and counter inside. Not the prettiest by any means, but who cares the root beer is home made, the fries are some of the best in Dallas, and the double burger with chili, onions, cheese and mustard is to die for. Really... More

For a long time, I have been on a quest to find the best rootbeer. I'm not sure if the Dairy-ette has THE best rootbeer or not, but it sure is good. Served ice cold in a frosty mug with a damn good burger. I've googled "best burger in Dallas" a couple of times and the Dairy-ette always seems to... More

The address says Dallas, but the surrounding does not like Dallas. it is an old neighborhood and an old establishment (since 1956). I was a tourist in Dallas and local friends took me there. They claim the place did not change for decays. We had a root beer (home made) and fries (freshly cut) but I could smells the greasy... More

We visited this place on a recommendation, and were not disappointed. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The food was fantastic - simple, but made fresh and hot. And the fries were amazing! I will certainly be returning, and telling others about this classic lil' diner.

You see the sign, assess the exterior and decide to drive on. You'd be wrong! Best root beer floats I've ever had! Fantastic burgers made the old fashioned way. So good, you'll come back!

Dad considered going out to eat as going to the (now closed) Fire Place or Moon's Dairy Queen in Mesquite for a shake, burger and fries. Yes back in the day these were literally everywhere in the area from Keller's on Samuel Blvd. to The Prince on Garland Road; none still in business but little difference between any of them.... More

You don't go here for the "best" burger in town-- you go for the atmosphere, the laid back vibe and something nice to put in your tummy. The burgers are very basic, yet filling and decent sized. All the sides are large enough to share. I went easy on the mustard, from other reviews I had read, and it was... More
