Great smells and good meat

Went their for some good ol BBQ. Was not disappointed. The restaurant has 2 sections, where you order, and where you eat. You can sit and eat in the order section if you have a smaller group. Upon entering the restaurant, you can tell they have been doing this for a while. The aroma of BBQ is and... read more

Sonny Bryan's is definitely worth doing one time. The tea was great. The coleslaw was among the best I've had. The meats were OK, though, and that was about it. I was disappointed with the sausage. The ham wasn't smoky enough (it was, however, really juicy - it's easy to dry a ham out when you barbecue it). Sonny's has... More

sonnys on Inwood Road is the only one to go to. The others are just imitators I last ate here 35 years ago and I' happy to say they haven't changed a thing. Don't mess with absolute perfection. Best onion rings in the world. Best BBQ ever. Only reason I'd ever go back to Dallas again If they mailed to... More

Having just arrived in Dallas we fancied some typical "Texan" food and hotel staff recommended this restaurant as the "chain" started in Dallas and prepared good BBQ food. The staff seemed badly organised with somebody seating us, another bringing a menu, a third taking our drink order (then forgetting it) and finally our waitress who was only really interested in... We were looking for some good Texas barbecue on our last night in Dallas. Someone at our hotel recommended Sonny's as the best barbecue around. The meal was so disappointing that I wished we had just gone down the block to TGI Friday's instead. The server was very friendly, but it was downhill after that. We were seated in the... More

Picking up a car up the street.....my associate is a BBQ hound, so we just had to stop, I probably messed up by getting a pulled pork sandwich, it was very good, not as large as I expected, and I have had better, but it was good and the place is unique and iconic, my friend got a sliced beef... We dined in a group of 6 as a late lunch whilst on a long transit in Dallas. The food here was pretty good, particularly the ribs, sausages and pulled pork. The service was a little slow, the cutlery, crockery and tables very low end, the place was grubby, the bathrooms were filthy with an open drain and the beverages... More

Travelling to the area frequently from the Midwest I have been on a pilgrimage in search of the perfect BBQ. I may have found it. The restaurant looks horrible from the outside and next to the Goodwill store, I admit I had my concerns. I mean this place looked like a shack. But follow the crowd, and I did, finding... More

We took our family of 6 for dinner tonight, and enjoyed our experience. The meat was a little cold and obviously not fresh, and it seems that a little effort could really improve the look of the place, but overall it wasn't bad.

The amount of food I ate at this plate should be deemed illegal. We had everything from pull pork, sausage, jalapeño sausage, brisket, chicken wings, ribs, beens, macaroni and some more. Wow home made bbq sauce, everything in here is good. Go hungry and eat your heart out. Prices are very affordable, you won't break the bank I guarantee you.
