I started coming here longer ago than I can recall. It's consistently delicious. The portions are large...beware...usually I overestimate my capacity and leave some behind. Try the pulled pork...one of my favorites. Actually it's all good!

Wonderful “hole in the wall” barbecue joint. And “hole in the wall” isn’t meant as derogatory. In my world, the best barbecue comes from these old-school, rough-around-the-edges places. And the Original Sonny Bryan’s is a case in point. Amble up to the counter and place your order – ribs, turkey, pulled pork, pulled chicken, sausages and, of course, brisket. Combo... More

The price was reasonable for delicious meats and sides. We had ribs, pull pork, sliced beef, sausage, potato salad, cole slaw, onion rings and fries. Everything tasted great. Pleasant staff took our order. The only strike against the place was the flies around the food.

Visited here on a Saturday night . Walked right in ordered 3 meat plate. Got ribs, jalapeño sausage and brisket. All the meats were great. Had cole slaw and beans for sides. The BBQ sauce came in bottles that look like Tabasco bottles it tasted good. They had everything that we all ordered and weren't out of anything. Everything was... More

The exterior nearly had us turn around and run but the sign said since 1910 so we figured it had to be legit. It was! I had a 3 meat 1/2 pound plate with onion rings (amazing) and beans. Each meat was tasty, tender, and not gristly. We wanted a taste of real Texas BBQ while we were down there... More

Spent almost 45 minutes trying to find this Irving location from our hotel. Arrived at 7:30pm no one in the place and we found out why. Brisket was dry, sausage was on the verge of being spoiled, ribs were ok, tender, but had an "aged off flavor" to them. Slaw was good, rolls were great, service was good, but will... More

This is very much one of those hole in the wall places but well worth the stop! Food was great! I loved the pulled chicken and ribs. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful! A little confusing for out of towners who don't know to go in to order first. My brother got his wish in finding a great Texax experience!... More

I have become a big fan of BBQs in general thoughout the US. Sonny Bryans was not the best I have had (that honor goes to Oklahoma Joes in KC), but Sonnys was still excellent. The BBQ sauce is a touch sweeter than I normally would prefer. I got a combo plate with chopped beef, pulled pork, potato salad and... More

Stopped for take-away on the tail end of a trip to Pittsburgh. As always, the brisket was tender, smoky and good! The sausage was also excellent! Went to the "original" location on Inwood Rd.

We are kind of lost and hungry, when was saw the sign at the original location. We stopped and had lunch. It was amazing! Best bbq that I have ever had in the state of Texas.
