Elegant without being Stuffy

There are those who find The Mansion somewhat intimidating with its upscale clientele and all the trappings of a "fancy restaurant." I wholly disagree. The dining experience at The Mansion is a great combination of 5-star service and ambiance with a wonderfully relaxed environment where the patron feels special but not overwhelmed with the typical fine dining snobbery. Staring with the valet things were just not up to par. Have been to the Mansion many times, have even stayed in the hotel. The dinner was just OK and the Restaurant Week menu was lacking...how many items can you make with corn? The menu needs more diversity. The wine offerings are very, very expensive and the pours light. The... More

I was so disappointed with the lunch. I took my parents and my husband. My mother used to love this restaurant which is why I chose it. We order tortilla soup. It was very good though they poured mine on the side of my bowl. My husband and father ordered the Rueben sandwich. The bread was awful. The Russian dressing... More

We relocated to Dallas and worked our way through a list of "must go" restaurants. We saved The Mansion for my 50th birthday dinner and booked way in advance. The restaurant was waiting for us with well wishes and a flower on the table, so there was no confusion about understanding this was a special and romantic dinner. We were... More

We stayed at the hotel and made several trips to the bar. During the afternoon the atmosphere is laid back. That picks up a bit in the evening with the addition of a lot of people and live music. Cocktails are all good. Service is too. This is a nice place to have an upscale bar experience.

We ate off of the bar menu, which while very limited, was perfectly fine for our purpose. The dining room is a little more formal.

Celebrating a family milestone, many had traveled long distances for our dinner at The Mansion. The positive: The service was absolutely impeccable. The head waiter had the perfect combination of attentive without intrusive. The wine captain was spot on and the supporting staff was professional, efficient and subtle. The table presentation was excellent and our patio-like setting was delightful. Now... More

This is truly my favorite place in Dallas. I love everything about The Mansion from their fresh flower displays that are changed every Wednesday, to the bar area which makes you feel like you should smoke a cigar and have some brandy, to the amazing suspended staircase in the entrance to the restaurant, to the impeccable service. And I haven't... More

My wife and I happened in two nights ago. From the valet to the waiter (James), service was the best I've had. Each person we encountered seemed delighted to serve us. James recommended a number of items, each of which was excellent. Mushroom risotto was truly unbelievable. Copper River salmon was very good. Pea tortellini was complex and surprising. Dessert... My husband and I were celebrating our 31st anniversary. We were greeted promptly and given a card of congratulations. We had a nice glass of champagne and were not rushed to order which was very nice. Then--the rest of the evening was a disaster. Hubby ordered shrimp cocktail. According to my daughter "nobody can mess that up", but they did.... More
