Amazing first visit to a real Taxas BBQ

We were taken to Lockhart's by my nephew and his wife who live in Dallas. We had gone to the Plano store first but they were almost sold out so suggested we gone back in a few hours. Texas seems to be known for these kind of smokehouses and what I like and dislike about them is that the food is made fresh so when they run out for the day, that is it, the restaurant closes. Then again, if you are too late, you may not get your favorite dish or even any food. Aside from that,... More

A different experience with Great BBQ Ribs Liked the food but disliked the lack of seating, you have to stand in a long line to order and get your food while someone guards your table and seat. A lot of people get their food to go in this fraternity looking restaurant with bar. The ribs make it all worth while.I... More

Located in the funky Bishop Arts District, this place is well-worth the short drive south of downtown. We ordered 2 lbs of ribs (flavorful, tender, lean, meaty), an order of sausage, and two sides (jalapeño mac and cheese and spicy baked beans). That was plenty of food for three adults. Great vibe in the place. Will be back!

There is a reason this place get's great reviews ... the BBQ is fantastic ... but it's also a great experience that makes for a truly enjoyable time with friends and family. Standing in line, enveloped by the smell of smoke and checking out the day's special meats only enhances the anticipation and drool factor. Getting your meal in butcher... More

I can eat until I'm ready to burst, and still want more. The smoked meats are delicious. This is a real simple smokehouse. You order the meat by weight, they place it on a sheet of butcher paper, weigh it and off you go. The sides are satisfactory, but you come here for the slices of smoked meat. Lockhart also... More

In Dallas for awards show and went here for lunch. It's all order by weight which meant we tried a little of everything brisket, turkey chicken and sausage. Brisket and turkey were my favorites don't know how they keep them so moist but one of the best we have ever tried. Had sides of beans which are very hot as they... More

We chose Lockhart because it was walking distance from our meeting location. It was a local place and not a chain YiPPEEE. We went early for dinner than we wanted so we could sit together as you know no reservations, so you have to beat the rush. I didn't get involved in the food ordering part since I was getting... Even though Lockhart is number 1 on a lot of blogs and in magazines, I thought it was average. The meat quality was still good and the brisket was juicy. It's just taste preference.

Went for dinner one night - was surprised to see a long line with a chain blocking the counter. Guess they sold out earlier and to re-stock. Anyways, totally worth the wait! Had some awesome brisket that is generously cut and thrown in paper with some bread. Had the mac and cheese and slaw as well which were both delicious.... More
