In the same space as Samas, the new restaurant is now featuring Latin cuisine. Ther seems to be one semi private dining area with a big table..I would suggest you ask for a booth (there are only 2) or this semi private spot. The restaurant is loud and they were pretty busy last night. Our table was too close to... More

Headed out to meet friends and learned the reservation was changed to later. Planned to sit outside and enjoy the breeze until another member in my parrty arrived which gave us the opportunity to enjoy the bar. Found the bar menu prices reasonable and enjoyed their version of Red Sangria. We were a larger party and had a private table... More

Nice atmosphere and the food is decent yet overpriced. I've been there for a business lunch and it was ok. My second visit was to meet a friend for a quick drink after work. Drinks were nothing special and priced for a typical downtown joint. My biggest gripe is that two drinks and a simple appetizer of NAAN was over... More

Only a couple of things that brought this place down a bit on our rating. The atmosphere has a 'cafe' kind of feel and really doesn't match the menu or the decor. There is a nice outside patio area, which is basically useless from June through August in Dallas. Also, we thought it was a bit pricey for most tapas... More

Good - Food was tasty, diverse, and delivered pretty quick. Bad - Service was quite slow, portions were quite small, and beer and whiskey selection were low. Given these facts, I would go again.

I was in town for work, staying at a nearby hotel, and wanted a good meal in walking distance. Samar offers tapas "inspired" by cultures from three different regions - Spain, India, and the Eastern Mediterranean. I tried the chicken-apricot seekh kebab, beef short rib kadhai, and tiger prawns. Overall, the food was OK but nothing special, and a bit... More

This is part of the Stephan Pyle properties, very close to the Dallas Art Center, Meyerson and opera, etc. Interesting fusion of southwest and mediterranean cuisine including tapas selections. The food tastes great, BUT THE PLACE IS NOISY. We could not conduct a conversaton at a 4 person table, and then the staff were asked if the music could be... More

Mixed tapas from Spain, India and Eastern Mediterranean. Concept is great, food was o.k. but the place is certainly popular. It is packed for lunch and dinner

We attended a concert at the Meyerson and this restaurant was in the area so we chose it. We had fantastic service and fabulous food. Loved the ambience and small plates. Then a very short walk to the concert. Perfect night.

Your taste buds will explode with wonder! I am not fond of this type of food but since it is another resturant of Stephen Pyle's I decided to try it. Glad I did. Although I won't eat the lamb (pet in my eyes) I did enjoy the prawn. Examples from the menu: India/Small plate-$7.00-Chickpea Flour Tempura Veggies-GOOD!, Friend had the... More
