Quick transfer in Texas airport (Dallas)--lucky me, the pulled pork sandwich in Dickie's was great and at a great price.

We've all been to fast food outlets at airports, and all the food's the same - mediocre to horrible. Dickey's Barbeque Pit in C Concourse at DFW is different - absolutely the best airport food I've ever had. The roast beef melted in my mouth and the sauce was terrific. Coleslaw? Great.

We had sausage, egg, and cheese biscuits from here for breakfast. The total cost for 2 sausage, egg, and cheese biscuits and 1 medium coke was $12.63. They were a fairly good size and enough to fill you up before an early flight out. In my opinion they were a little bland, my husband said they were pretty good -... More

During a layover at DFW I had lunch at Dickey's Barbecue Pit, just outside of gate A18. Being one to enjoy variety, I ordered the three meat sampler and chose brisket, pork ribs and spicy sausage/hot links. All were very good but the brisket was perhaps the best I've ever had. The sides I choose - baked beans and cole... More

Loved the barbecue sandwich and baked potatoe casserole. More expensive than it would be outside an airport but I expected that. Much better than a cold permafrost sandwich!

Big bang for your buck too. Half a chx, 2 sides and a drink $8.50. In comparison a Big mac meal was $7.50. Very good. Oh, fair warning green beans are HIGHLY peppered!

Lots of great BBQ in Texas, and for an airport restaurant this one isn't bad. Not great, but certainly worth eating at compared to the other airport choices. Very good brisket. It's always full which is usually a good sign.

First off, in Texas barbecue is a noun, not a verb. We don't 'barbecue some hamburgers or steaks'. Second, go to Carolina if you want pork barbecue. Texas is beef barbecue country. Dickie's has been around Dallas since the early 1940s. Being in Texas for 70 years in the barbecue business, you must be pretty good. Beef brisket, sausage, and... More
