Wide variety of food and fun family atmosphere. they had Americana food like chicken fried steak but also had tacos and enchiladas. Really friendly waitresses. This is where the locals eat :)

Biscuits & gravy are the best, burgers & breakfast are really good. This is a small hometown cafe & we're from close to Dallas down here hunting & we would love a place like this close to home.We eat breakfast & dinner here every time we're here hunting!

When I am in the area, I love to stop at this little café and fill up with goof Texas food. It is in a little town and the location is no really obvious to the casual traveler, but the food and service is wonderful. It is interesting to sit and listen to the local folks talking about the price... More

Despite my reservations about anywhere with a name including the words "feed" or "barn," I ventured into this place based on reviews. Feeling adventurous, I ordered something I also generally avoid -- a chicken fried steak. It was all worth the risk! Steak was perfect, with a thin coating, obviously pan-fried like granny used to cook it. Partner had the... More

We were in Rising Star (8 miles away) for a meeting, and had a reservation for about a dozen people at Jean's. Not a lot of "ambience", but really good food! Lots of fried choices, but they were all good! Save room for the cocoanut cream pie...yummy! In case you were wondering, they do not serve alcohol....Texas still has dry... More

We have eaten here twice on our way home from Colorado. It is a busy place filled with locals. There are daily specials, M-F. The food is good home cooking--catfish, chicken fried steak, hamburgers, etc. You might want to skip the restroom. It's not so clean!

I have eaten at this restaurant many times and have never received a bad meal. Some were better than others but overall a great family cafe with reasonable prices

Friday's special of fried catfish was delicious. Crispy on the outside, flaky on the inside and a generous portion. Red beans were flavorful and I love the cole slaw. The service was friendly and attentive even though the place was very busy. Great meal and great value.
